Thread: Ways to spot another LDer

Erm. Isn't there a facebook group and numerous other threads concerning this? Like, the people in another thread had decided on a salute type-thing where you just attempted to push your index finger through your palm, being kind of obvious, so any other LDer can immediately realize that you are reality checking. But if you guys want to go with bracelets, be my guest.

Well the problem with that is that you have to do a behavior as their attention is fixated on you. Chances of that happening are relatively slim. I am not really interested in advertising to everyone, like through a shirt or something, but if I am wearing something that members of DV will recognize on sight, and mostly it also serves as purpose (helps with RCs), then I think I'd wear one, especially if it was something small and functional. It would be more for me, but with the benefit of having other LDers recognize it without me having to be doing a specific behavior are a very specific moment in time.

I'd be leaning more toward the watch than the bracelet, simply because of the increased functionality.

I don't know that a personal dream symbol or reality checker would make any sense at all because that's the opposite side of the fence... it's functional, but no one is even going to notice, and the whole point of this thread is Ways to get Another LDer to Recognize that you are an Oneironaut. Then if you say "oh jewelry, or a charm, or a tattoo" well there's no way in hell I'd get a tattoo, and then for jewelry and charms, that was the purpose of my bracelet idea.

Why not carry something that represents a personal dream symbol or reality-checker? These could be in the form of a tattoo, jewelry, charm, etc....

It may be more subtle (perhaps less effective), but I don't know...just throwing the idea out there.
