Question How long does it take to WILD?

I search for this but I couldn't find anything

So When a person lies down for a WILD , how long does it take to enter the dream on average?

The reason I’m asking is because im making a sleep schedule and I’m wondering if 2 hours and 30 minutes is enough time to WILD and enter the dream.

      Any feedback is appreciated

There really is no specific amount of time. Everyone is different and some people may never be able to do it if they do not devote the time. All I can say is work at it until you can do it. In the end all of your hard work will pay off and hopefully you have something to show for it.

Two hours? Jeez, out of the 2 WILDS I've had, it's, on average, taken about 15-30 minutes.

I never even had a successful WILD before. I have lie down for over a hour one time and NOTHING not even SP. After around a hour I would give up and sleep.

My WILD's always take about 5-20 seconds, once I pass that point my body generally isn't relaxed enough to fall asleep instantly and I've got to work at it (always without success). I had 2 on the 1st of October and 2 this afternoon in the middle of a nap (woke up extremely tired, focused in on the ringing/static sound in my ears and thats all she wrote)

If you have trouble with having WILD's my advice would be to wait until a moment when you wake up and you are half-awake, those moments where you are going to fall back asleep in 10 seconds you are still that tired. You can't control when you wake up that tired so I WILD when my body lets me. Once I started to recognize a certain sound that always happens everytime I try to WILD I can focus in on it and I've had a very high success rate with it recently. Enough to the point where I wake up out of a WILD and can WILD right back into another lucid in a matter of seconds.

Falling asleep for me is a huge chore so I always thought I'd be the last person to WILD, however doing it when my body is about to crash the moment my head hits the pillow has yielded most favorable results and as a matter of fact it is how the majority of my lucids come to me.

It depends on the person, really. The more practice you get, the faster you get. Two hours and thirty minutes is a lot of time, that should be easy to achieve.

It can take anywhere from 2 minutes to an hour or more, though that highly depends on the person. The first couple of times I had successful WILDs, it took about two and a half cycles of me counting to 100 in my head.

Nowadays, though, it's become sort of a pointless task with me; on more than one occasion I've lain in bed for two to three hours straight without being able to WILD (all I really get is a dull numbness all over my body, but lately it hasn't gone much further than that).

Yep. I'm not very experienced though, I've only had two WILDS, and one I'm not even totally sure was one.

      Same here.
I've read on another thread that maybe the counting is keeping you too awake.
Some need it to keep conscious some don't.
The advice was to focus instead on the light show and HI.

I think the counting may be a good way to relax your body initially, but then you need to relax your mind (but not too much) so lay off the counting and just look at the lights.

Then you're doing it wrong. You probably passed over the part in the good tutorials that talks about what you should be thinking about. It's not just lying still. There's a very crucial mental component to it, and if you get it right it can take a few minutes.

You can estimate the time during your wild , by breathing and such.

I have read EVERY single WILD toturial on Dreamviews.

Definately. Depends, of course, how long it takes you to go to sleep. 2 hours, 30 minutes is more than enough, though.

If your relaxed, thinking correctly, and not moving, I dont see how your body can stay awake for 2 and a half hours.

You're not doing it right. Seriously, you should be in full-on hallucinations within a half hour. You should not be controlling your thoughts. You must let them flow freely. All you need to do is maintain self-awareness, not control.

Na , you're just making a pre assumption.

Either you're moving or you're thinking. There's no other way to not fall asleep. The sooner you realize that you're thinking about stuff, the sooner you can start WILDing.
