You could get a lucid dream from just reading about them during the day, but it'd be good if you were a natural.
Sometimes practicing RCs has a sort of 'delay', so you can do them for a couple of days with no result and get a lucid dream when you stop trying them, it's probably best to keep practicing them everyday anyway.

Sometimes. Why is there no sometimes button?
Are you consciously thinking about not RCing? Or just blowing it off completely?

A fairly large portion of my lucid dream count comes from no techniques actually, I didn't need much of anything when I was much younger.

To lucid dream is my real test

Whoa, nice! Yea, I was going to say, if you realize you should RC, and consciously tell yourself "no I will not RC", then you are probably going to raise the awareness and question reality just as you would doing a state test anyway

Once you have enough of them you just start being able to tell the difference between real life and dreams.

      But you are speshal anyway

you can't consider yourself a natural unless you have been LD'ing for your whole life without trying to do so. you're getting LD's now because your subconscious understands that you want to have one and has been programmed by you lately to become conscious in dreams.

Right, or maybe just the experience of being lucid has cued you in to what to look out for to make you lucid, or maybe just the latent knowledge is enough to suffice. I personally only consider 'natural' lucid dreams to be those had prior to any knowledge whatsoever of lucid dreaming techniques. People who can just DO it, all on their own.

      yep! why?

I didn't know about RC's till I found DV. After I joined here, I started to do RC's and they worked well. but lately I don't need to do RCs to know I'm dreaming. Although I keep doing them for fun.

alot of people experience this, including myself. Out of my 7 lucid dreams I've had since I registered, 4 were nights when I did not listen to lucid dreaming mp3's and didn't even have lucid dreaming on my mind! Avoiding thinking of lucid dreaming to get a lucid dream, whether intentionally, or unintentionally is actually so effective that someone here on this forum dubbed it the "AILD"

I wouldn't try "AILD", though. It hasn't been truly tested. I've actually been meaning to post in there saying if they want it to be a true technique, then they need to read the DV Research Guidelines.

      I have found that quoting
