right, tonight I took Dizko's advice and finally took the plunge and instead of trying to WILD when going to sleep set an alarm to like 4AM.
I was having some dream that I can't remember or I was just starting to have it, when I instantly knew that the 'reality' was terribly off and that I was dreaming, however that made my dream disappear and I now had nothing but a white-goldenish colored "full screen" in front of me, comparable to an LD version of the matrix loading program. I suddenly got the fear that I might wake up so I span around some, I think I had the false memory of my arms hitting the bed as I did so but that could have been planted there after I woke up by my mind to fill in the gaps, not sure, anyhow once I span around I now everything was black so I decided instead of making things even worse to let my mind take over for a while, but all it came up with was a logo that flew around like a screensaver that I saw in a previous non-lucid dream. then I woke up.
question: Dizko said that counting breaths (my specific technique was counting while I breath in and saying "I'm dreaming" when breathing out) is ineffective- what technique should I use? For getting this first wild I just let my mind take over while I sat back and watched, not getting involved but still there.
