      Question about SP

      Hey everyone

Last night I tried to LD for the first time. I used the method where you lay still untill your body is a sleep and your mind isnt (not sure what thats is called. WILD?) but I still have a few questions

I got to a point where my whole body felt very numb and heavy below my neck and I started to have other things (small twitches, racing heartbeat etc.) I thought that I met have been in SP but I wasnt sure so I decided to try to stand up.

It was really hard to move at first but then when I finally stood up all the numbness went away and I was normal again. So I wanted to know that if you are doing the way that I was how will I know when I am fully in SP so I can just get up and do whatever I want and will my mind still be awake during SP if im doing this technique?

I actually hadnt had very much sleep the day before and none before I tried to get Lucid.

Would it make it easier if I took like an hour or so nap beforehand?

Sorry im just really new to this and I dont know all of the tricks that help you out haha

      No worries.

Well basically, the time you dream (REM - Rapid Eye Movement sleep) happens after about 90minutes of sleep. It lasts for about 20minutes, and then after another 90minutes, it happens again, only this time it lasts for a little longer.

This cycle happens about 4 or 5 times a night. When trying to enter a dream consciously (WILD), you want to be aiming to wake up during REM sleep, or close to it anyway.

Every time the cycle repeats throughout the night, the REM stage (dreaming part) lasts a little longer. So the dreams you have towards the morning are generally longer and more vivid. The best thing to do is set your alarm to go off about 4-5hours or more, after you fall asleep. This should give you enough time to be in a decent REM stage state, and at the same time leave you tired enough to be able to get back to sleep.

There are a lot of Wake Initiated Lucid Dream (WILD) tutorials on the forum, and reading them will probably help you - but remember that no tutorial fits anyone perfectly. Its really up to you to use trial and error to find the best way to do things for yourself.

      Have fun!

If you are paralysed. It simply means, that your mind disconnected itself from body and is no longer interested in it. Sometimes sleep paralysis feels like you are stuck in dream world. You would like to wake up, you would like to stand up, but your mind already dreams and you cannot.

Your dream body is another vessel you use in your journey. So when you are fully paralysed, it seems like you would like to use your real body but you are already in your dream body... I know it sounds crazy.

After realizing you cannot move, you have two ways, how to continue. Simply to realise you have your dream body and use it. Or to battle against this state and wait till your minds gives your consciousness controll over your physical body.

To be honest... I dont know. I never managed to convert this state to dream, becouse i had it only three times recently and it was so fearful i had to wake up. Many people here often say ... just go with the flow and dream will form itself around you...

So simply. If you get into this state. You have to do..... nothing .

Still I would ask people, who have transformed this state into something more useful. Right now its something new for me

Once you enter sleep paralysis just wait!! Wait and try to stay calm. I wouldn't try to get up and walk around, because you will just get your adrenaline going which will pull you out of SP prematurely. Once you hit SP you have very little time until your mind falls asleep so just stay calm. With me I get SP, and about 1/4 of the time now I still try to move and flip out a bit. The other 3/4 of the time I just lay there and then I hear noises in my ear. Once that happens I have a falling feeling and BAM! I'm in the dream. Trust me..you will KNOW when you are in the dream.
