      Problems Falling Asleep

I seem to have developed a case of insomnia lately. It takes me forever to fall asleep.

      My usual schedule:

6:45 am - Get up for school on weekdays
10:00ish pm - Go watch TV in my room
10:30ish pm - Wash up and try to go to bed
11:30ish pm - Look at the clock and wonder why the hell I'm still awake

Next morning at 6:45 - Wake up extremely tired and vow to go to bed earlier tonight. Sure.

So what's the deal? I don't do anything physically involving in the evenings (I only work out 3x a week Mon/Wed/Fri around 3 pm) so I'm not wired from that. I don't eat too much after dinner.

On weekends, I'll usually go to bed really late, at least after midnight, then I'll wake up around 11:00 am. I never have trouble falling asleep after a fun evening when I get home really late. So I get up just before noon on weekends and then am forced to get up early again on Monday. It seems like my 'clock' is off a couple hours - I go to bed an hour or two late and get up an hour or two late.

      Suggestions?

you call THAT insomnia..I'm confused. I usually go to bed around...3 am, and get up at 6 or 7. it's either because I can't sleep, or I'm messing around on the computer. 11:30? ha. I scoff at thee.

Get yourself tired...then sleep like a Log.

I've found that the less active I'am during the day the harder it is to sleep at night.

nyQuil! -- also something that works well, DON'T think about stuff! just don't, if a girl pops into your head... pop her back out. focus on somthing, maybe the tic of the second hand on a clock... or your breathing... if it's raining listen to the sound of the rain falling... trance music works for me sometimes... pink floyd works, portishead, massive attack... music that's laid back. -- NIN doesnt do it, Tool, Deftones... nope. -- seriously though. NO girls. they'll fuck with your head.

      You bet'cha!

I go to bed around ten, but I like to work on my WILD for an hour or just meditate. That gets me pretty tired. Sometimes... I'll acutally do some homework. Haha, just puts me out really fast

Thinking of girls (women for me) doesn't affect my ability to fall asleep at all. I've often drifted off into a happy reastful sleep while thinking of romantic (and kinky) things...

Why does it mess with yours? Just curious...

i usually try to think about nothing while im falling asleep, but my (now ex) girlfriend always pops into my head, and then i am totally awake! i say "get outta my head!" but she just sits there keeping me awake. sometimes it helps to picture her in a bubble, and then picture the bubble floating away.
