Body asleep, mind awake...step by step.

Can someone give a point form, step by step process of what should happen when entering the body asleep, mind awake state?

Do you mean a guide on how to get there? Or a list of sensations to expect? Or do you mean something more scientific, like what happens when you fall asleep hooked up to an EEG?

This has kinda happened to me a couple of times.

Im laying there trying to sleep. I find it helps if theres something in the background keeping my mind amused. Im a little weird and like Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy. I find the radio recordings from that help, just playing in the background, something to listen ta. Anyway, Im then laying there. All of a sudden I feel my body begin to ache. Kind of a really weird feeling, like every inch of you wants to roll over. This is where you have to resist all temptations to move! I know it sounds easy, but it isnt!

Well... Once youve mastered that bit! After that, i then feel my eyes begin to open slowly, not much, but a little. I think start to see weird things, not cats on sterioids, but hypnotic things. Pulsing lights, Spinning rings, that kinda thing. Apaprently (ive never got past this point) If you then begin to try and move your arms in time to these rhythmic halucinations, then slowly add body appendages, you can then become fully lucid. Although as i said just now, ive never quite got to that stage!

      Hope this helps!

      Scrap

P.s. Keep tabs on my DJ, Im trying this out right now, and i have a whole week off work in which i dont need to worry about sleeping properly!

A list of sensations to expect. For example:

      - after 20 minutes of laying perfectly still, itches and uncomfortable body signals given by the body to the mind to test to see if it's asleep.

      - HI begins

      - Body feels heavy

      ect, ect...

I got that last night! I thought I did something wrong, but it's nice to hear other experiences! Thanks! I'm trying again tonight.

I had this happen last night as I was falling asleep, but there was no conscious effort on my part to make it happen so I would very much like to know how to do this.

I have seen the Saltcube videos and that method of just lying completely still never does anything for me. Maybe I should try again.

I try to WILD when I go to bed (at night, not after waking up) I just do it because it helps me fall asleep. I like the weird sensations but when I get too close my body gets all WEIRD and then i really have to move. I really hate it when I have to swallow or... when I blink (when my eyes are close) How can I blink when my eyes are clothes, i don't get it!

I do the same thing...blink when my eyes are closed (I think that's probably what you meant when you said 'clothes', right?). I think it's mostly mustle twitches. There's a good post here somewhere which says you should sit in a dark room for 30 minutes before going to sleep. That should settle your eyes down.

Tried last night... Failed! Nothing meh...

But yeah, remembering things from you guys now... As I lay there, normally I suddenly become consious of my mouth being open and very dry, at that point i really have to swallow, I guess that normally wakes me up a lil and it all goes belly up!
