      Does FILD bypass sleep paralysis?

This technique doesn't take very long, so will I experience sleep paralysis while trying out this technique?

(sorry not sure which forum this goes in )

and in sleep paralysis, you are the only one that feels the jolts if someone is in the same bed as you?

      Thanks:

I've heard FILD can bypass sleep paralysis (I think, maybe it was another technique), but you can't ever be completely sure. And no, no one else can feel the jolt when you enter SP. If they did, they'd feel it every night you go to sleep because sleep paralysis is a natural occurrence that happens every time you go to sleep.

      WRONG.

REM atonia is experienced naturally during REM periods to prevent you from acting out your dreams. It does not occur when you go to sleep. It occurs during REM sleep, and you're usually already asleep.

Sleep paralysis is this paralysis outside of REM sleep.

And yes, SP is mainly hallucinations. The whole point is that your body is paralyzed. So no, you should not be moving around in your bed and anyone sleeping in the same bed won't really be aware of it unless you start trying to get out of it and jerking around or whatever. If your eyes are open they may notice that.

I should of phrased the question differently sorry.

I was talking about inducing the LD that way.

My wife jolts physically every time she falls asleep. Sometimes it's just a little tic thing, other times it's so violent it wakes her up.
[ ] Recall at least one dream per night with certainly.
      [ ] Have a MILD.
      [ ] Have a VILD.
      [ ] Perfect a technique

The jolt you guys are talking about is a hypnic jerk. It is not necessarily even linked to SP, so you should not speak of one as if it were representative of the other.

Ah!! thanks for that. It will probably enhance my understanding and recognition of SP considerably if I stop equating the two.

All FILDs I had up to day (only three for now) had extremely smooth entering into dream. Only gentle wave of vibrations or jolts told I was in dream. If it was not for this I would think I was still in bed and FILD had failed.
