I still have a few minor questions and concerns

It's been awhile since I last posted because I decided to take a break from LDing...or trying to, that is. I tried for 3 months, took a break, came back, tried again for about 4 months, took a break, and now I'm here again. Now I have a few questions that came to me over my break:

1.) When I read about WILDs (my chosen method. Had the closest thing to success with it), people talked about a "wave" that they felt before entering SP. I never feel that wave. I tense all my muscles up and then slowly release them, take a deep breath and completely relax and instantaneously I can see very dim HI and SP slowly creeps up on me. Should I be feeling this wave, or is it different for everyone?

2.) When WILDing, should I follow the patterns of HI or just ignore them? When I focus on them the feeling of SP gets stronger and the patterns get brighter but I read that you weren't supposed to.

3.) Again, I read that you aren't supposed to swallow or anything as it breaks SP but it doesn't for me. I can swallow and make very minor eye/finger/toe movements and my SP doesn't diminish at all. Is this pushing me back at all?

And finally 4.) Is there any chance I could get addicted to B6?

      EDIT:

Oh one more thing, has anyone ever had a dream about lucid dreaming? Once I week I have a dream where I'm in the third person (as always) and I'm watching myself change the dream world and I'm like "I can't believe it! This guy's lucid dreaming" and then I hear someone say "That's you..." but I can't do anything about it because I'm not in my own body. It's very angering >

I will attempt to help answer your questions.

As with everything with LDing, everything is different with each person. I've heard of people that feel a sinking feeling with SP, or a heavy blanket. I've also heard of people rising up, and others have the wave. So, I would assume that there are many ways the body feels when entering SP.

You should passively view them. Like watching a semi-good movie or TV show. Just sort of watch, but don't look too deeply into them.

3.) Again, I read that you aren't supposed to swallow or anything as it breaks SP but it doesn't for me. I can swallow and make very minor eye/finger/toe movements and my SP doesn't diminish at all. Is this pushing me back at all?
I don't think so. As long as it is minor shifts, I would assume that you would be fine.

And finally 4.) Is there any chance I could get addicted to B6?
According to Wikipedia: "It is thought that this effect may be due to the role this vitamin plays in the conversion of tryptophan to serotonin." Tryptophan is found in turkey, which makes us tired at Thanksgiving. I eat a TON of turkey during Thanksgiving, and I'm not addicted. I think that it's safe, in reasonable quantities.

Yes, I actually just read a thread about this a few days ago!

Hope I helped provide you with correct answers. If I'm wrong, I'm sure that a more seasoned LDer will correct me and help you. Good Luck with your Lucid Dreams!
      Hmm....doesn't seem right....
Was that a dancing banana? A dancing muffin? I'm forgetting something.....oh yeah!
      REALITY CHECK

Please fill out my survey, I'm trying to determine if there are any specific characteristics that aid in LDing. http://www.dreamviews.com/community/...ad.php?t=72416

Your heart beating wouldn't get you out of the paralysis of SP, so I don't know why peristalsis of the throat would. It's more optimistic and beneficial to lucid dreaming to assume it wouldn't than that it would, since I've never seen any actual evidence about it.

Um, if you liken SP to REM atonia, and then figure that REM is characterized by rapid eye movements, why would movement of the eyes bring you out of REM atonia? And if you extrapolate that to SP, which is pretty similar, why would eye movements take you out of SP?

The first thing you need to remember is that when it comes to WILDs and just lucid dreams in general, there really is no "should". In other words, there's no set-in-stone way to do things. It's different for everyone. Contrary to what many people say, swallowing will altimately not effect your WILD. At most, it will make it take slightly longer, because you will realize the presence of your physical body once more, and you'll have to re-find your dream-body--(That's a process that happens on its own. Don't worry about trying to consciously do it.)

As far as HI goes, I tell people to "observe" it, but don't concentrate on it. For me, it works to wait until the "scenery" of things start. They will eventually fade into very short little scenes, that eventually turn into entire dreams. The danger is just falling out of consciousness into non-lucid sleep. Above all else, try to stay passively conscious. But don't over think it

And as far as the "wave" you "should" feel, once again, there is no "should" in WILD. As long as you get to SP, it doesn't matter how you got there.

You don't even need to get to 'SP', regardless of whatever definition you're running by.

True, and I was not implying otherwise. He's worried about the onset of SP, and I was trying to explain that if you get SP, it doesn't matter how it happens.

He is concerned about SP while WILDing, and I am reminding him that SP is not required to WILD.
