I heard music in my Ld last night

Last night i had an LD, it wasnt that vivid, as a matter of fact at one point it was pitch black.

However I heard Avril Lavigne's - complicated, which was bizarre, since i find here music annoying.

However the music was extremely real, I even tried to focus on the music to sense how real it was.

Anyways it was cool, has anyone else heard music in there LD's? How real did it sound?

Honestly, that song was probably playing on your radio or from some other source at the time. I have this happen a lot when my dad turns on the news when I am sleeping. Once i had Dr Phil intrude on my dreams, the audio of course coming from the TV.

Impossible, I am 110% sure it wasnt from a other source, its the way my house is. I sleep in the basement, tv or radio is no where near my bed.

Also, i know what you mean by when tv or other noises intrude into your dream.

But this was not that case, i was fully Lucid and i could hear the music in the dream. I woke up immediately from that Lucid Dream.

cool! In order to enjoy avril lavignes fine music in my own dreams I had to sing it myself as a min-dreamgoal. Lucky you! Hmm I wonder if there is an award for an artist for "appearance in most LD's"
TAKE DV members advice with caution! some have had zero or 1-2 LD's yet act like gurus

In one of my LDs there was the song "The Bird and the Worm" by The Used playing in the background the whole time while I was wondering around my parents' house. It sounded just like the real song.

I have to admit it sounds pretty good in a LD, probably because the limbic system (emotion part of the brain) is hyperactive during dreams.

I hear music in my NDs and LDs nearly every night. Sometimes it sounds perfectly real but other times it sounds odd. Often it will sound sort of trumpety and distorted. Last night some music was being played on a tape that was dragging.

Here's two excerpts from my dream journal where I heard the most beautiful music. It was perfectly normal and real on both occasions.

      Example 1:
I float up quite high into the air and this GLORIOUS music starts playing. It is orchestral and it is “I dreamed a dream” from the musical “Les Miserables”. I can’t describe how thrilling it felt to be flying high above the carnival below with this tune bellowing out from the heavens. It was one of the most exhilarating experiences in my life.

      Example 2:
I turn back to check if C is following. He is, but he is now wearing a fancy pilot uniform! He looks amazingly handsome. I laugh at him because I know he's changed his clothes to amuse me. He has a twinkle in his eye. I automatically know what he's thinking. I say, "Oh you gotta do it!". He replies "Just give me a second". He adjusts his cap and then the music from the final scene of 'An Officer and a Gentleman' starts playing! He comes over and sweeps me off my feet into his arms and starts walking across the airport with me. People are clapping and cheering. It's just like the movie! Love lift us up where we belong, where the eagles fly on a mountain high, love makes us act like we are fools... It's amazing and exhilarating and hilarious and unexpected all at once. I love how the dream surprised me. I woke up elated!

These were both amazing LDs. I love hearing music in dreams.

      Like irl!

Well, a bunch of times I´ve been dreamng about me standing on a stage and play various metalsongs (mostly screwed up though) by Nigtwish, Metallica etc. This week I happened to dream of a song that was echoing through a large building, and as I´m getting closer, the song gets louder and more vivid. As I sing along to it, its as real as listening to a stereosurround-system in real life! Have never heard that kind of clear sound in a dream before...

Yeah, I like Avril Lavigne's music quite a bit, but "complicated" isn't my favorite lol. Yes, any music really gets to you in your dreams, I love it. Just... Not when a talk show host like Bill O'reilly suddenly speaks over my head like a God.

All that aside, I am all for "Lucid Dream Radio Station".

This morning I had a dream that had the song "You've Got to Hide Your Love Away." by the Beatles. It was very realistic, even though I wasn't lucid, it was the song note for note. Even John Lennon's voice was unprecidently realistic.

When I'm in a dream, Im never sure if the DC's who are talking to me are actually making sounds with their mouths or if it's kind of just a telepathic recognition that they are communicating with me and I know what they're saying since they're a part of my subconscious.

Searched my DJ. I almost never hear it while lucid, but have right before becoming lucid (not the cause, just time wise prior to lucidity). Here are the few dreams I've had about music while lucid. Usually I'm the one who has to initiate it:

"Instead, I started walking back toward X and humming the song “Spybreak”. I could hear a song start, but it was like a couple of beats out of sync with my humming. I tried a bit harder, thinking of my mind like Itunes, and a man’s voice emanated, “_____ _______ love songs”, something along the lines of “you can only sing love songs”."

"I started to sing a song, wanting to see if anything would materialize, and nothing did. I can’t remember what the song was now, though. My sister was still there and I thought maybe asking her what to do would help, or that just talking to a DC would be a nice distraction. Of course she wouldn’t answer any questions about my dream goals and was overall an aggressive dream character. I thought, “Fuck her.” I launched myself into the air and across the gap again. I started singing “He’s a Pirate”, since it’s been one of my very first dream goals. I went straight through the wall as though it weren’t there, and I ended up outside the building in an earlier location from the pre-lucid dream. I’d been hoping for a pirate ship or an orchestra so I jumped through the next closest wall, and I’m pretty sure that that is when I woke up."

"Now the people that I’m responsible for greeting are ghosts, and it seems like maybe all along they have been spirits but now they’re evil, and so I am running around the hill shrinking and growing in size to escape all these spirits and I think at some point dad is there. Then as I am running down one side of the hill, the one with the ledges and bushes, it is S behind me who is chasing me and I jump into the air and start to fly away. I’m shooting over these fields and the sun is rising and all of the sudden I realize it’s a dream, so I try to ignore him to make him go away but I’m still too scared and he’s still there so I’m like “fuck it!” and decide to distract myself. I’m guessing that because the sun was rising, and I would listen to The Circle of Life in the car on the way to summer school as the sun rose, and because I put it on my ipod last night, that I thought of that song. So I started to sing it out loud and he started to sing too, and since it was a lucid I had such a beautiful voice! It was very high and African sounding and pretty and sounded so nice! And it was sort of a duet because of him but I was like the main singer."

The music that I do here is perfectly accurate, sounds just like real life, high quality. I always wear my Bose headphones and then say that when they're on I feel like I'm in a room made of sound when I close my eyes. Gives me the same feeling.
