      Regular wake-ups, and "channeling".

      Two Idea's...

It has been speculated that we only remember dreams if we wake up during or immediately after a dream. So what if we set say 3 alarms per night, will we remember more dreams? I guess this has the risk of interrupting a really cool lucid but could be worth a try.

Second, has anyone had a dream where they are reading from a book? I have, it is weird like i know i am making the story up, but keep forgetting it as i go. I think this is what Edgar Casey did (prolifically) and he was able to dictate it to his assistant. I don't really believe in channeling, I think the mind is generating information in some bizarre way.

      Thanks,

      FunK

for the first question I would say yes....thats part of the reason I attempted to do an uberman sleep schedule. Straight to REM dreaming, and then waking up.

I've read paragraphs in dreams, but never entire stories...and for the most part I forget them word for word when I wake up....even if its the last thing I dreamt about. But I'll get the "jest" of it.

mm don't set alarms, instead try to use MILD and before sleep make yourself wake up at, say 3am by sheer willpower- it's actually surprisingly easy, just say "I will wake up at 3am" many times with conviction before sleep.
TAKE DV members advice with caution! some have had zero or 1-2 LD's yet act like gurus
      TOTAL LD's (almost all DILD/MILD) =160!!

well i wasn't exactly saying setting three alarms, but doing research on alternative sleep patterns. or doing what yuriy says. sometimes alarms can totally mess you up mid-dream.

I've done this, it worked. You may want to allow some extra time for sleeping when doing this, as it seemed to reduce the quality of sleep for me.

I used to set some alarms like that, back in the day. The only time an alarm really bothered me though was in the morning to wake up
It's multiple wbtbs during the night. I approve. You should try it out yourself, just see how it goes.

Yup, I've got some kind of split-screen vision - one half was the text I was reading (some new Pratchett book my brain made up, had pretty good jokes btw), the second half was following the action. Pretty cool.
