Thread: Do they know?

I think the majority of the world understands the concept of 'having a dream and knowing you are dreaming in the dream', but I think most don't realize the control, stability, and vividness that is possible, or the fact that you can induce them to have more than one in a week, let alone a lifetime.

They probably just think you're some new age person.

Overall, people who spend a lot of their time talking to others about their dreams are viewed sort of negatively, or strangely. Especially if the other people does not understand how easy lucid dreaming is and how natural it is.

I agree though... I tend to view people who talk about dreams as being new age and weird. Reason is because hardly any of them know about lucids and they're only talking about dreams because they are looking for meaning/messages/spiritual guidance in them. That sort of thing bores the crap out of me to be honest. I feel like saying "One too many cups of dandelion tea today?"

By easy, I really just meant 'not impossible'.

Also, with the right amount of dedication you can learn to lucid dream at least a few times a month pretty quickly. So yes. Not impossible. Not paranormal. Not bullshit.

It just sounds like you talk about dreaming too much with these guys. I used to have a friend who was into magic. I'm also an amateur magician myself, but this guy talked about it constantly! Then one day, he started talking about going to school to take some classes. I thought, "Thank heavens! A different topic for once!". But he later revealed that he wanted to go to school to help him better his magic! It just gets hard to hear the same old stuff over and over again. Dreaming or anything else.

Some people do not like to talk about dreams, some even do not remember them clearly.

I mean I have talked to friends about LD, but they just think It is a dream where I think I know I'm dreaming/controlling my actions, and then they proceed to do a weird/funny face. And I feel I need to change the topic, cause they just won't get what a LD is.

Its possible he has very bad recall and thus doesn't remember any dreams. I know from my experience that I would remember a dream a month if I'm lucky otherwise, I always wake up with a blank in the morning. As someone here mentioned, its possible that you are talking about dreams too much and the subject has started to bore your friends. I would take a little break from it and see their reaction. Also, I wouldn't talk about LDs with anyone other than family members unless the guy that you're talking to mentions something about them which would open the topic up for discussion
