      I Need Help!! Scary Stuff!

Ok, so the night before last, I had a lucid dream, and I was absolutely amazed at how much detail I could notice in it! it seemed like real life, if not more real, the thing was, though, I was in a mansion full of blood and gore, terrible place to become lucid with such grim detail at, and my mind does NOT go easy on me when it comes to scary! So, there was blood all over everywhere and the lighting was VERY creepy, and footsteps of blood were appearing on the floor and leading into a closed door, at which point I was so scared that I just shoved myself out of the small window in the hallway as fast as I could and plopped to the ground, and there was your typical dead woods and moon, at which point I turned it to day, and everything in the forest bloomed to life, like the typical fairytale forest, making me feel much better, as I started walking through the forest, the bloody footprints started appearing again and I saw something far off in the woods running my way in a crazed sort of way in fast motion, tripping and waving it's arms and screaming in an unearthly voice, I tried making fun of it and running to it, but nothing would stop it, so I decided to fly up into the sky and escape from it, at which point the sky suddenly turned black and I found myself splashing in the deep depths of the ocean with glowing red bubbles coming up all around me, and as I was swimming around, this horrible THING came out of the darkness at me, it was humanoid, but it's body was burned and shriveled and with it's head, all of it's teeth on it's top jaw were razor sharp, crooked, and came down to it's chin, and it's eyes were completely bloodshot red with a little black dot in the middle for a pupil, as it swam at me I started hearing extremely disturbing screams and white noise and weird moaning, as it got about 1 foot from me, I woke up with a HUGE bolt and slept with the lights on the rest of the night, CAN YOU HELP ME GET RID OF THAT THING?! PLEASE!? IM SCARED TO CLOSE MY EYES NOW.

      o.0 Wow.

You say it was a lucid dream? Well, that helps. Just recognize that because it's a dream, nothing can hurt you. You can try using a modified version of MILD (see the tutorial) to help you remember this while you're dreaming. Instead of reminding yourself to recognize that you're dreaming when you wake up in the night, remind yourself to recognize that nothing in a dream can hurt you.

Picture yourself owning all the bad guys, then proceed to do it in your next dream. It sounds really corny, but if you believe that you can change your dream, you'll be able to. Likewise, if you doubt that you can do it, you probably won't be able to until you gain more confidence. Try making fun of whatever it is that's scaring you. If something's chasing you, turn around and laugh at it. Better yet, give it a hug; that's probably why it was following you.

You could also try dream spinning, although it won't help you face your fears. Basically spin yourself around and imagine whatever dream setting you want. When you stop spinning you should be there. Also be careful for false awakenings.

I can't say it will work, but while you're falling asleep imagine ponies prancing serenely through fields. But seriously. Don't go to bed dreading having another nightmare; it will only make you more likely to have one. Try doing something relaxing before bed, like meditation.

That's pretty scary. I wouldn't want that thing in my dreams. Maybe if you don't think about it it won't bother you again. If it does bother you again, try confronting and try making die or something. Remeber your dreaming and it can't do nothing to hurt you. Your in charge in your dreams. Always remeber that.

I was once plague stricken with a set of reoccurring dreams in which I was being chased by a large stocky wolf and each fence I ran too would raise to high to a point where I couldn't climb it. I told my parents about it and my father said the wisest thing I had ever heard come out of his mouth and that was that "it was my dream and i could control it."

So the next time keeping that loosely in the back of my mind the next time I had the dream I was able to turn and stare it down.
After that point the dream had stopped

Hi, I haven't posted for a while, but I think I might be able to help with this one...

Rather than spinning or trying to consciously control your dream content, which often results in waking, (at least for me),... just simply turn around and try to go back the way you came. It's sort of like facing your fears and turning from them at the same time... If you hit a barrier, walk through it, or turn around again.

Remember, all dream content is controlled by you (your subconscious) and for a reason, whether you are conscious of it or not... and all dream characters are essentially facets of yourself.

Turning around and trying to go back the way you came, changes the dream content and dream environment... at least in most of my experiences.
