Along with the nose one, I'm having trouble of thinking up any. One step up you've got though if your sight is normal in dreams is that you've got an incredibly powerful dream sign right there. Use this dreamsign and the memory reality check, which is really the most important one there is. Every time you think of sight or vision or notice that you're seeing something, ask yourself where you are, what you're looking at, if it makes sense that it's there, what the quality of your vision is and if the explanation is that you're dreaming. You could also, as a reality check, ask questions of any dream characters around you. Since they could literally say anything this has some limitations just like any reality check.
Really though, you don't need reality checks at all so don't feel like you've hit a bump in the road. If you just make sure to work on your awareness overall, you should learn to get lucid just by noticing that things don't make sense and are strange. Definitely reality checking can help, but the awareness is the most important part. Reality checks are just for when you notice something is weird and want to verify that you're really dreaming. So try to work on awareness, and I'll try to think of more RCs that aren't dependent upon sight. One other one is jumping to see if you float down gently, although if your sight is bad I don't know how easy it would be for you to just start jumping up and down.

have you been blind since you were a baby? I think if you could see at any point in your life you can visually lucid dream (once you have memeroies of course) But otherwise you can have lucid dreams based around touch smell and hearing etc etc.... I'm pretty certain thats it anyway
But, he can apparently see normally during his dreams, which means that he could certainly try things like visualizing during a wild and pulling upon dream memories of sight to help him along, just as during a DEILD someone will visualize the dream they were just in.

This, too, I'm not so sure about. Lots of people have hyper-vision during their lucid dreams, claiming to see more details and colors and vivid things than they've seen in RL. Depending on what physically is causing his blindness, different things may be limited in his dreams. If it's literally a problem with the eyes themselves, he'll probably be fine. Since he can see normally enough in his dreams already, he likely has the potential to keep seeing regularly or to achieve that hyper focus/vividness just like you or I could even though WE don't see that way in real life.
