i don't know. i had a couple fingers severed last april... they've since grown back (or they were reattached... i can't remember) and when i try to gain some control in LDs by sticking a finger through a hand my hands look perfectly normal... no scars... no crooked fingers... nothing. i think your dreams reflect the mental projection of yourself... for so long my hands were 'normal' and that's how i see them in dreams... therefore it's not so weird when i see my hands as being normal... now fingers aren't as massive as missing a couple of legs but still... it's a physical deformity that doesn't seem to help or hurt my dream consciousness.

I know someone who had his leg taken off by a train at the age of about 17.
Apparently, on occasion, he still forgets he's missing his leg, and falls on his arse. The rest of the time, he moves around like an expert, and doesn't use prosthetics.

I'd love to know if he dreams with both legs.... I'll get back to you once I find out
