its own section would be nice, but personally, when i first posted, i enjoyed seekers welcome. but even if i thought it was just routine i don't think i would have cared or been turned away.

      Thanks adidas
I really do care and am thrilled whenever a new member signs on for the first time.
I like to think I can help. However there was one that joined a few weeks ago that I even exchanged a number of PMs with that I couldn't help .

Hey I think Seeker makes the best welcomer any forum could have and if you all ever even think of taking his stars away, then IM OUT LIKE A SCOUT ON A NEW ROUTE.

Thats not a very nice thing to say about one's self. You are valued here and the board would not be the same without you. I take you seriously. You have a sense of humor and who knows, maybe you think people overlook the advice you give them because they always aknowledge the lighter stuff you say.

Nobody really takes me and many others seriously, but i dont let it get to me and neither should you!

hrm. first of all i and most of the others enjoy reading your posts.

secondly, everyone is an individual, thus will react differently and will have varying levels of receptiveness to Seeker's "obligation" to welcoming them. some will feel it is simply just that--his obligation; others, however, will relate a board having someone chosen to provide a cordial greeting as a sign that the board openly and actively seeks out and appreciates new people. regardless i've noticed quite a few individuals jump on the bandwagon and attempt to welcome new people before Seeker, which is certainly appreciated.

thirdly, holy crap, if you don't change your avatar it's going back to a block of cheese! HA HA! (it's of course your choice, being an individual, but that doesn't mean i won't have fun w/ you anyway.)

oh, i totally forgot to respond to the main issue on the table: a forum dedicated to new people.

I'm all for this, save for one potential issue: I don't want people recurrently responding to posts from new people that neglect to use the newbie forum with, "This should have been posted in the newbie forum." If you must you can casually suggest this, but not without also providing something additional to the reply. Sound good?

I don't think that would be a problem. I wouldn't say "this belongs in the newbie forum" I think it should just be there in case newb want to post there...if not, who cares. right? people?
