      Regular RCing? Does it work?

Everyone here talks about how they RC throughout the day, but it's only once or twice in my lifespan that I've actually gotten out of bed and done something and then woken up again. Has anyone ever actually found that they are in a dream through a random RC? (I'm sure that I'll get an abundance of "yes" answers). For example, if I RC right now, I know that it's not a dream, so I'm not going to bother.
I'm just not experienced enough to really see the benefit of RCing right now I guess, all my lucidity just happened. Last night when I dreamt, some weird stuff happened, but I never thought about RCing; some of the more experienced people here seem to talk about dreams as if they are just as clear as reality, and their thoughts are clear, but my dreams are always vague and confusing (with the exception of the few where I was able to obtain lucidity).
I guess I'm just confused because it seems the only times I would RC is when I don't need to.

Well you can think of reality checking in this way.

You didn't mention of you're keeping a dream journal or not. But if you don't, time to get on with it! Every time you remember your dreams, write them down.

Now over the course of your dreams, you can start to go through your recorded dreams and see if they have any kind of pattern, of any kind of specific thing it seems like you're experiencing regularly. For example, say that in almost all of your dreams, you sit in a car, everytime you get into a car in real life, you ask yourself if you're dreaming or not, and try to really mean it.

If your dream signs are hard to link to anything in your ordinary day to day life, then you could try and do reality checks regularly doing the day, but you have to remember to try and REALLY ask yourself if you're dreaming or not, but a bit skeptic and question your current sorroundings. Might sound dumb, but that's the way to do it, else it won't really get into your consciousness

You should also read these two tutorials:

And yes, I have had lucid dreams through random reality checks Where I look at my hands and figure out I'm dreaming.

In the last 2 weeks, 2/3 of my vivid dream have involved some kind of collectable card (Pokemon etc.), and even though I don't know why, this could be a good start... thanks for the advice.
The thing in the first link about larger-than-life people is so true! The people in my dreams are always the centre of attention, and are usually about 1-story tall, even though it never seems strange in my dream.

I generally get lucid from a single random RC after waking, so the work, given the correct scenario.

hah, cool enough Oddly enough people of real importance in my dreams are never taller, but always the ordinary hight (like if it's people I know from real life they'll be the same hight as they normally are)

Yes, this seems to be the case with me also. If I find myself in my own room in a dream etc, where I would normally find myself doing a RC during real life, it tends to spark it. So it can be all about the scenario.

When or if I ever find myself in a dream after waking, that would probably be the single coolest experience of my life. Unfortunately, there's not much to do around my house, but if I could bring someone into my bedroom, it would be quite a nice prelude to my day!

EDIT: Whoa, I think I just stumbled on something crazy...
"It happens when you are hovering between the subconscious and conscious minds, dipping into the subconscious to pick up a part of a dream image, but then coming back out."
I think that happened to me last night, I felt like I was dreaming, but not completely, and I saw a door close twice in my mind. I then had a dream that I was running through hallways and through doors. It might just be me exaggerating, but that would be incredible if that was the reason.
