      Slight accomplishments

I have known about the LD phenomena for about a year now, and I have experienced a total of 5 lucid dreams with little effort. It started with a google search about a year ago that led here and to the faqs. I practiced with a small amount of conviction, doing RC's often during the day and thinking about lucidity as I drifted to sleep, but I did not keep a journal.

Then school started (college) and my practice slowly stopped and I concentrated more on school than LDing. Now that school is out I have in the last two weeks been keeping a well documented journal and been practicing RC's whenever the idea comes to mind.

My problem is that I have been unable to experience a true LD in these two weeks and I was somewhat of a natural prior to any real concentration on the subject. The only thing I have improved is my dream recall, I recall extremely vivid and complete dreams now, but my nearest LD was a FA, and I couldn't get up i just moved my arms and eventually woke myself. I have tried incubation, WBTB and waking without opening my eyes and attempting to "Fall" back into a dream with consciousness. When I attempt this I do not fall asleep at all, and eventually I have to attempt to incubate and allow myself to fall asleep naturally.

Anyways, sorry for the long winded rant, I guess what I am after is a little bit of advice for my situation and encouragement. I am also very susceptible to subconscious suggestions as to procedures that might help me out. Let me know if you have experienced a similar situation and how you overcame it. I am very enthusiastic, and I know i will have an LD soon, I just need some friendly advice that might cause a suggestion to be made in my subconscious to help out. Thank you in advance!

I think I feel similarly - I just want to LD! I've cultivated a good sense of daytime lucidity - just being aware of my actions while I'm awake so that lucidity is not just a state I achieve in the dream.

There have been these semi-lucid kind of dreams, where I know I'm dreaming and I'll perform stabilization techniques - but I'm not sure if its a conscious decision or as a result of it being a habit (I stabilize while awake sometimes when I RC). I've yet to think to my dreamself: "Hey, lets perform a few RC's & then go explore my surroundings".

I find that these bouts of tinkering lucidity only come when I'm active in maintaining daytime awareness and filling up a journal. So I guess I'm not really annoyed at not having a full-blown LD...I'm actually glad at the dewdrops of lucidity I've achieved in those few dreams - and am sure that if we continue to pursue, It'll soon start to rain.

Keep it up, I'll do the same. All the best with your LD'ing. Already the clouds are forming.

      Thanks for the reply!

I know I'm not alone- and that is exactly how I perceive the lucid state in my dreams, you know your lucid, but during recall you cant tell if you are just doing the techniques because they are learned or because you are actually fully aware.

Im feeling some good vibes in my dreams lately, I'm just maybe a little too excited to get to where I was before, and maybe this constant desire for a lucid state rather than a confident, I don't really mind either way attitude that i had before might be putting too much pressure on my subconscious.

Either way I'm learning alot about myself and maybe that is what is important
Best of luck to you also!
