Guns Violence and Blood!!

All my dreams involve blood violence guns fighting anything that in involves anyone getting killed. Last night I beat the hell out of this kid in a dream there was blood all over the wall his face was literally ripped like paper there was blood all over my fists and everything.. And one night i had a dream i was pistol whipping my gym teacher in her head. And then the night after that I was being shot by her and stabbed! why are all my dreams like that! I'd say about 90% of my dreams involve fighting.

Violent movies and Video games? or you may be mad at someone ugh... so I guess grand theft auto really does effect you in negative ways... anyone else have similar dreams?

anyone else have similar dreams? No... I'm a pretty mellow person, so I suppose that reflects in my dreams. Violence doesn't bother me that much, but to the extent that you're experiencing it I don't see how you can stand it

I dont think Ive ever seen extreme violence in a dream before, which I find quite strange. I play M games and stuff like that, like most gamers in this day and age do, but none of that ever carries over to dreaming. Whenever something scary or a fight goes on, that always is omitted, or I end up doing something real crazy and find myself somewhere else. My first instinct would to say violence you see in every day life, like videogames and stuff, but im really not quite sure. Im much more likely to do something wacky and crazy to avoid conflict or violence in games. I remember a war scene, people flying around getting shot, but not an ounce of blood...

Well i can have bloody dreams... not very often. I killed some people! I seen friends being eaten by zombies. I play lots of horror and shooting games, so it can be that but i think (atleast for my case) that its beacuse deep inside you want to try to live out these crazy and bloody things, and what place would be better than in your dreams.

ugh... so I guess grand theft auto really does effect you in negative ways... anyone else have similar dreams? Haha. You should go through my dream journal sometime. I actually enjoy my crazy, violent, usually adventurous dreams. I love thrill rides and movies with a lot of gunfights and sword fights and martial arts and whatnot, so it definitely transfers over to my dreams. Even when I have dreams where I'm being shot or stabbed or whatever - I always look back on them, after I wake up, with a sense of "wow...what an experience!" The only thing I don't really like are feverish, no-holds barred nightmares. But I do love to go back and read about them, once I've gotten over them.

Hah, I've read your DJ Oneironaut. It seems like you're involved in a gunfight or a chase on foot in every single one. Some of mine involve violence, but never it is bloody. I may shoot a person, but they just stiffen up and fall backwards. Sometimes, the violence is no less disturbing than it is without blood. In one of the first dreams in my DJ, (the paper one) I was desperately searching for my truck in a parking lot and a gang of middle school-aged boys came up and wanted to stop me for some reason. I picked up a big, heavy branch and just brained the lead kid with it. the others ran, and when I looked down, it was as if I'd killed an angel of something. Violent dreams don't signify any sort of mental disorder or tendency towards violence. If you don't like them, lucid dreaming is what can change them!

Violence is fairly common in dreams actually, all around the globe. Could be explained with many different reasons, your influences, personality, hobbies etc. I have much of violent dreams, but that doesn't disturb me. I am quite accustomed to fighting, violence and bloodshed. Strange thing is that I know people who are highly pacifistic, yet they see horribly violent dreams. The difference is that they find them very uncomfortable. Or then you can think of the psychological theories which state that the greatest urge of human is to destroy. We often do that, even if we wanted otherwise. Could be hardwired in our genes too.
