      Mid-Conscious Thrashing

3 nights ago I believe I had an LD.
(I'm very inexperienced with lucids, but I'm having them more frequently)
[BACKGROUND="#ffb900"]I've done this several times, but I start thinking of something as I fall asleep and then in the dream state I pick up where my thoughts left off.[/BACKGROUND]
I'd never tried this technique before that dream, but I read that if you spun around in circles it would prolong the length of one's dream. And I could feel myself slipping into consciousness, so in the dream state I panicked and began spinning around in circles.
I could feel pressure on my limbs though, doing this resulted in me thrashing in my bed for two minutes. My dream was becoming more clear, but I could tell that my body was struggling.
I continued flailing until eventually I gave in and woke up.

Considering the highlighted region, am I actually dreaming or am I tricking myself into believing I am by making my thoughts realistic? Because I shouldn't be flailing if I'm actually dreaming. I'm actually only about 60% sure that I'm really in a dream/lucid state.

Similar experience I had: I was spinning to prolong dream consciousness. Surely I was hitting my arms on the bed frame, I could feel it. But later, on waking up, I was hunched in a ball under the covers. I'd been worried for nothing, I never moved. If your blankets are tossed and twisted and you knocked the glass of water over, you probably really were flailing.
