I read something in past about those binaural beats that made me decide that their only merit is autosuggestion. Seemingly the frequencies that are supposed to affect you are situated in ranges that the human ear cannot really hear. No idea what those binaural sounds are, probably they lie that a computer program can play sounds at those frequencies and it's playing them in a different way that makes them inefficient. So drawing a connection between them and how aware you were is probably futile. |

First of all, you haven't really researched binaural beats. What they do is create a dissonance between two frequencies that makes your brain infer another frequency (the example I heard, although probably dumbed-down, is that if one ear gets 300 hz and the other 315 hz, your brain interprets it as 15 hz.. it's not really a hugely controversial topic). |

Binaural Beats work by Entrainment. As stated there are two frequencies (ex. 307HzLeft and 300HzRight) the brain auto-subtracts the difference and you are left with 7hz (in the middle). Now the problem with Binaural Beats is say you just get back from a busy day at work, your dominant brain frequency could be in the High Alpha State (~14Hz) but if the Binaural Audio you listen to is in the Theta Range (5 - 8Hz) then it will take longer to Entrain the Brain. There's also the matter of the audible frequency. I prefer the lower frequencies like 120Hz~135Hz or the extremely high audible frequencies like 3500Hz, so that can affect your experience as well. |
