Yes. I talk to everyone that I can (who won't think it's freaky) about lucid dreaming. After explaining the concept and making sure they understand, I assure them that at some point they WILL have a lucid dream in the future. At first my sister was thrilled by the endless possibilites and then she let it fall to the wayside. It didn't really interest her anymore and she wasn't really willing to put any work into it. Sure enough though, we had a conversation and she told me about her creepy nightmare. The more she talked I said 'you had your first lucid dream.' She was unaware of this because she thought lucids didn't include nightmares. At some point in her nightmare she said, 'man this dream is boring. I'm ready to do something different', and proceeded to find a way to carry out her wish, besides being freaked out by creepy things.
My other friend is quite interested in the concept of lucid dreaming. We even thought about having a sleep over and practicing WBTB and WILD techniques together to see if we could have lucid dreams at the same time. NO, I'm not referring to shared dreaming. Anyway, I can't really say what he's doing inregard to his lucid dreaming because I haven't spoken to him about it in a while.
My other friend revealed that he has had lucid dreams, though he didn't know that's what they were. I guess I can see what he's doing with his as well.
But to answer your question more quickly: Yes, I've convinced people to join in the fun of lucid dreaming.
