I am adamant with my opinion that those who share deep interest with dreams will find it. Or those who have natural success will seek us out.
Jujutsu is the gentle art. It's the art where a small man is going to prove to you, no matter how strong you are, no matter how mad you get, that you're going to have to accept defeat. That's what jujutsu is.

I wish so much someone had told me about lucid dreaming when I was a child. I had no idea it was possible. It never occurred to me. Then at least I would have had the choice over whether or not to pursue lucid dreams. I would love to have been lucid dreaming throughout my youth and to see how my dream patterns and themes changed over the years. I can never get that time back.

All children should be told about lucid dreaming instead of the bullshit waste of time that is religion.

Either way it would be benificial for it to grow. If it grew at a rate that kept things calm I think everything would be alright.
If it suddenly sparked into light and started a massive worldwide trend, there may be some consequences and hostile attacks from other groups could be possible. I think doing what we could here and there would be plenty of support to let it grow, but not too quick.
      good times

If it did grow, that means so much more input to dreamviews.com,
      so much more induction techniques
so much more help and tips!

This is just my opinion but...

I always *hate* it when people try to hand me pamphlets in a public space. I feel like they're proselytizing or trying to pressure me into participating in something or donate money to a cause.

... AND I get annoyed at all the waste involved -- so many people will accept the pamphlet just to get the person off their back and then just toss it in the garbage or on the ground. Not so great for the environment.

However, I understand the desire to share your excitement about lucid dreaming and help others discover it. (Hell, I even started a blog on the subject before I came across this forum.)

There are ways you can do this that aren't so in-your-face that would attract the attention of people who are actually interested in this sort of thing without pissing off those who aren't. If you want to form a local support group or something, why not place a classified ad in your local paper and/or on Craigslist? You could also contact places like yoga studios and offer to do a lecture or workshop there. I'm guessing that if you approached venues like that you'd be more likely to find people who are more into this sort of thing.

... Anyhow, those are my two cents. Interesting thread!

Yes it would, but after the snowball has started spinning down it is hard to stop and it keeps on growing. I wouldn't want to write an article to a newspaper for example, but I would like to have DV t-shirt or some DV cards I could left somewhere. Still, large scale advertising is not a good idea. My feelings usually have served me well, but it is my opinion after all.

Anyhow, we don't need that much of different techniques or tips, since most of the new techniques work only for the inventor. I think DV is more a way to share experiences and to create a dreaming community. Of course, sharing information and discoveries is a great thing too, I am not denying it.

Agreed. I also have no interst in institucionalzing lucid dreaming. I started lucid dreaming spontanuosly. I'm here today because I share some common beliefs and interests with some freinds.

Think about it. Most people aren't even interest in dreams anyways, people don't attribute any particular importance to them. If this goes mainstream (i.e the fucking networks involved) people will see it as another fad, as a way of cheap and 'cool' entertainment.

It's not that lots of people interested is necessarily a bad thing. I actually would like to see more of them interest in this sort of thing. It's the meaning of lucid dreams, the use we make of them ( and the consequences of it) that concerns me.

Remember what has happened to psychedelics they use to be a great way of getting to know youself and now people abuse them, they just use them for sheer fun at parties so the whole thing becomes another superficial and banal experience of modern society.

... and now psychedelics are illegal and frown upon.
