      Question Sleeping positions?

I was wondering, do you guys think there is an optimal position to fall asleep in? I personally find that I fall asleep faster laying on my stomach with my head turned to one side. I also turn my body a bit in the same direction to ease the strain on my neck.
I've been trying to fall asleep on my back, but it takes me hours. I also have a bad habit of tossing and turning often, which kinda disrupts my concentration, or rather my drift-ness. I realized that if I try falling asleep on my back, I will need to move around much less since my body would be in a much more natural position. Unfortunately, this is where my problem comes in. I just can't seem to "let go" when I'm on my back.

Anyway, I just wanted to know how you guys prefer to sleep, and if any of you might give me a few tips on how to overcome my issue.

      Thanks and happy dreaming

I think why I gave up on LDing in the past was because I thought you HAD to fall asleep on your back and I just can't. I pretty much have to sleep on my side, preferably with a pillow to prop my arm up on. I've been making so much more progress this time around, now that I'm not trying to fall asleep on my back. I think we probably each have our own "best position" -- probably based on a lot of things.

Hmm, I've never kinda thought of sleeping on my side... I guess that would work, but how do you position the arm thats underneath you? I'll have to try it out tonight.

Thanks for the idea... Still cant believe I didnt think of sleeping on the side . roflmao

I also sleep on my side, either on the right and only curled up a bit or on the left and curled up more. I have no clue why. I put the arm that's under me out in front of me but bent, and I put my hand under my pillow. Put your hand on your ear and you'll see what I mean.

For sleeping on my stomach, I like to put my head sort of half off the pillow so my neck doesn't have to bend so much. Or put the pillow on your chest and let your head hang over the other end.

But whatever works for you is best.

I'm also the same way, i fall asleep faster while sleeping on my stomach, because i feel my diaphragm moving while i'm breathing and it helps relax me and quiet my mind. This is how i achieved a wild about a week or two ago, in fact it only took me 30 to 35 minutes, maybe less to achive that wild while sleeping on my stomach. I can't really sleep on my back, but it does or use to get me into sp while i slept on my back but it takes me way too long to fall asleep while sleeping on my back, i kind of fall asleep kind of easy also while sleeping on my side, namely my left side, for some reason i can't fall asleep on my right and i also have to be in a curled position; but my favorite sleeping position is sleeping on my stomach, in fact, last night i achieved a lucid while sleeping on my stomach. And the dream lasted around 10 or 15 minutes, i knew it was a dream, i just didn't pay much attention to the fact that i did know.

I used to sleep on my stomach until I had random aches in my lower back. Now I just sleep on my right side, right arm bent and actually under my right side with my left hand under the pillow. More comfortable than it sounds.

I have the same issue with getting to sleep on my back. This is the position i once used to achive lucids regularly, but now i just cant fall asleep on my back. Any tips welcome.

I try for 30 mins to sleep on my back then my body tricks me into rolling over and I sleep on my side being uncomfortable on my front.
