How long was your longest lucid dream?

Have you guys ever got past 2-3 hours? or even days? I haven't gone past 15-20 min.

Same for me, 15-20 mins does happen, but not longer (untill now). There is a theoretical maximum to a LD length though, because each sleep cycle you will also pass through deep sleep, and there are no dreams in this stage. It's also quite hard to stay lucid there. In the later sleep cycles you have less deep sleep though, so in theory the lucids at the end of the night could last longer than those you may have in earlier cycles.

I had one that lasted around 30 minutes.

Actually they were 2 dreams chained with a DEILD in the middle. But as i wanted to have the dream in the same place as the one i was dreaming before i awake i guess it was like a big dream in 2 parts. The second part was the longest, around 25 min, the one before was kinda short 5 minutes i guess.
      Spontaneous LDs: 2
      DILD (DILD / MILD): 13 (3 / 10)
      WILD (WILD / DEILD): 9 (7 / 2)
Total Lucid Dreams: 24 (2 of them were EPIC LDs!)

You can get up to an hour long lucid dreams. Oh, and by the way, that's excellent, eyyoshi. This thread just completely expanded your LD horizon!
Haven't had a lucid dream in 3 years, and I'm looking to get back into it.

about 4 or 5 minutes. It's not long but I have noticed a lot of improvement. They used to be like 1 minute and less frequently.

Probably around 1 hour, but that would be chaining dreams together, with minimal (5-20sec) breaks in between.

I find once you have had a long lucid dream you will have more to come. Your brain no longer is expecting to wake up any minute, so you relax into it with confidence that you will have a while to experiment. Expectation and confidence, as usual, are key in LDs.

The longest lucid I had was about an hour long. It was under some special circumstances though. I had not gotten more than a few hours of sleep per day for 3 - 4 days. I believe I experienced some REM rebound. Regardless of how it happened, the dream was awesome!

Too much of any good thing is bad. One of the best things about lucid dreams is that they are pretty difficult to obtain, and short when you get them. If they were super easy, then we might not have dreamviews.

Than again, no dreamviews would mean no religion/spirituality section...

I would say about 15 minutes for me. I find that throughout the course of the night (if I have an LD) I usually have more than one lucid dream, or I get pretty close to becoming lucid a second time. I don't know if the gap between would count, but then I guess it depends on the situation.

hey hey hey, who said you can't dream in deep sleep? it still happens, not as often, but "no dreams" is not true, its just unlikely.

overall, it really depends on what you define "lucid".

There's a lot of tosh being posted in this thread IMO. I can only assume that when people write about "1 hour plus long LDs" they are in fact meaning to write that the time period stated is what it seemed to be. I mean, how on earth do you even measure realtime in an LD? You can't.. and if anyone writes back "I know what time I went to sleep and looked at the clock when I woke up and I was LDing all the time", well.. that means absolutely nothing.. time dilation/expansion etc.

My favourite is the person who wrote that he/she has LDs of 1 1/2 hours duration, during which they have "loads" of FAs during said lucid dream. I can only assume that they are a) bullshitting, or b) deluded, because, as is obvious, you can't have one continuous LD with "loads of FAs" during it. Such an LD would in fact be many short LDs peppered with FAs.

What worries me somewhat about this site and many of the people thereon is the fact that I was the only one to pick up on that statement.

      Now.. where are my meds?

Picking up on another statement. This one is false. During deep sleep the visual cortex is shut down and there are no dreams at all. If you would be able to maintain lucidity during this phase (congrats, this is very hard), you would only experience a black void and almost or no (dream)body feeling.
