It's all part of the plan...

Hey everyone. Getting back into lucid dreaming, I've come up with a plan which should hopefully aid me by setting a routine, and I was just wondering what you all who have more experience think of it.

I'm going to go to bed at 10-10:30 p.m. and use this time to relax. I'm going to be using the MILD technique to try to DILD.
I wish to be asleep by 11.
I'll sleep until 5 a.m. which is when my alarm goes off. I'm usually in the middle of a dream at that point. That's 6 hours of sleep.
I take 20 minutes to shower, and after that I'm going to go back to bed until 6:30. This is the WBTB part. I'll be asleep for ~1 hour.
Doing this WBTB, I hope to have a WILD by jumping back into REM. If that doesn't work, I can hope for a DILD.

So that's the basic plan. I need find some personal dreamsigns, which I will hopefully be able to derive from the next couple of dreams I have. Also to aid in the memory, I need to think of a routine to remind me to RC. For now, I think I'll do an RC every time I walk through a doorway.

      Any comments/suggestions are welcome.

Hmm...I don't know about you, but a shower usually wakes me up pretty well. You may want to get up, write in your dream journal, and then WILD. Overall, pretty ambitious schedule...I'm assuming you have excellent dream recall. If you can pull it off, I will . Personally, I couldn't stand to get up that early...I'm a MILDer.

What are you going to do for an RC? I recommend the plugged nose test and/or digital watch/body of text test. Others are more prone to failure.

You may wish to retrain your brain before launching in so quickly...it takes a little while for the MILD method to really sink in.

Wow...quite the difficult schedule you have...but it CAN be done! Go for it! Let us all know how it goes, too. Good luck!

Thanks for the feedback. In general, I think my dream recall is pretty good. I usually remember a couple of my dreams. I sort of wish I had a digital watch to do that test with, but I can do the plugged nose test and hopefully the text test if possible. I usually do the 'close one eye and look at your nose' and the 'finger through hand', although I don't especially like them.

      Anyways: First time:
So, I turned off all external stimili that I could last night, just so in the morning I could get to a WILD (hopefully easier).
Unfortunately, turning off my fan caused my laptop to overheat, thus shutting down causing my alarm to not go off. So I didn't wake up until 6:30, when my sister woke me up. Oh well, I'll try again tonight.
