I've had lucid moments like that. I'm not certain, but you could have been conscious of your sleeping body's REM paralysis, which sometimes happens with lucid dreams that occur when you are close to waking (and "things look blurry" is a clue of being close to awakening). this explains the claustrophobia and also why you knew you couldn't move. |

Spontaneous lucids - my favorite!
In my opinion, this is when uneasiness, doubt and fear started setting in which kinesthetically manifested itself in the dream world in direct alignment with your thoughts at that time. You felt trapped and bedridden therefore a sense of claustrophobia came on. The experience is subject to the person experiencing it. I remember reading a book once about a lucid dreamer who was in his dream world and wanted to activate the part of the brain that is responsible for fear. In the dream, he "felt" himself activate it and he was immediately stricken with intense extraordinary fear that caused him to jump up out of bed in a cold sweat. Remember, you are always in control. The reason you thought you could not move is what actually may have caused you to NOT move in the first place. Hope this helps. |
