      Im Positive It's Happening Tonight!

Ok, it has been almost a week since I have joined DV. I have been trying so hard each day, and I'm always being optimistic. I have been constantly doing RCs about every 5-15 minutes, and my dream recall is getting really good.

I know it will happen tonight, but if it doesn't, it will tomorrow. I just want to know the best way to go. What do I do when I'm there, how do I keep the dream stable, do you think I'm ready?

That's exactly the attitude that will get you lucid. If you really believe you will have one, it's much more likely you will.

For keeping the dream stable, the ebst thing to do is stabilize before hand. Flood yourself with (dream) sensual information. For improving visual clarity, here's what I did in a lucid: stand stilland try to vocus (visually) on the things around (in front) of you, bring it all into focus, sort of like focusing a camera lens, or like when your eyes are relaxed then you focus them again. When I did this, I was able to get real life detail, except there was no peripheral vision, everything was just as focused as the spot I was looking directly at.

As for what you do when you're there...well that's the fun part. This is where it's totally up to you. I know one of the first things I wanted to do was fly, but really in a lucid dream the only thing limiting what you can do is your imagination. Think up one or 2 things you want to do before you go to bed, so if you do become lucid you will have planned out beforehand what you want to do, so you can get right down to business.

If you believe you are ready, then you are! Before bed, don't only think/say you are positive, but truly convince yourself that it will happen. I mean, change your entire frame of mind to think, "I'm awesome at LDing. It is so easy. I having one tonight for sure!" Pretty much act like you are the greatest lucid dreamer in the world and truly convince yourself that this is true.

It sounds like you are doing this. Stay positive and even if you fail 20 nights in a row, keep confident/cocky. The reward is well worth the time and effort. Good Luck to you!
