Problem: Staying "Committed" to my LDs

I've found that when I LD, I still remain committed to the dream I'm in. That is to say, I can't usually change anything major, but usually have telekinesis and some such. I go through the thought process of "Come on, it's a dream, you can do it" to get certain powers, but I still feel like the dream is real, and am quite limited by it. Any ideas anybody?

Try to do RC's in your dream, even if you know you're dreaming. Also try spinning or shouting "Increase lucidity!" and try to belive you can do it.

I find the easiest way to conquer this, is to perform a completely unrealistic activity/action. You could start your lucid out by flying around for a bit. That will get your brain into the surreal mindset. Doing some reality checks every now and then will keep your mind on the fact that you are dreaming as well. There are some other things of course besides flying such as jumping from a deadly height, jumping very high into the air, running at extreme speeds, breathing underwater, etc. I find that engaging in lucid activities quickly, can help keep your lucid consciousness at a high level. Good Luck to you!

I tend to have problems running in dreams, whether lucid or not. My problem with the other stuff tends to be that I get wrapped up in doing impossible things, which is why I stop remembering I'm dreaming.

Just keep reality checking and reminding yourself that you're dreaming. Saying it out loud might help.
