      SP from WILD w/no HI...

The other night I posted this but I'm not sure if it was replied to or not, so I'm reposting.

I woke up after about 6 hours of sleep, had a little coffee, then went back to bed about 50 minutes later and started a WILD. After about 10 minutes I was in SP but there were no HI's. All that was there was just an endless wall of blackness with no depth or substance. I could bring up images in my minds eye but nothing like how its "there" in a dream. The main thing that bothered me was I couldn't tell if the blackness was the dream state, or if the dream state was me lying on the bed in SP (I'm sure you can all understand this). This kinda tripped me out because I had no real way to do a RC without waking myself up. All I knew was that I attemted to WILD and it brought me there, but where there was is a complete mystery to me. The RC's I was able to do consisted of trying to levitate or sink, but those could have been thwarted by my waking logical mind telling me that there's no way I can do that, so I didn't let myself. But anyway, this is the closest I've come to a succesful WILD and would really like to achieve it. Any Help?

im well experienced with WILDs lately (every time i get SP, i get a lucid) and let me tell you, i hardly get any HI, i mean, i see traces of color and some light, but no images at all, and its mostly black wall stuff. The thing is, when i get SP i just lay there in my bed, ignoring the pathetic HI my mind produces and focus in the feelings the SP induces. The vibration, the limbs paralization, the pressure, etc. When a good five to ten minutes have passed, i will try to move my limbs just in my mind, something like imagining the feeling of your limbs moving, without actually moving them. After the moving limbs phase is done, and i consider it done when i almost "feel" as moving, i proceed to open my eyes, simply. Most of the time i find myself in my bedroom, lying in my bed. In my first attempts, i was always dissapointed and ot back to sleep, trying to get SP again and failing. always. Then i started to do the simple RC of breathing trough the pinched nose. And guess what. It always worked. ALWAYS. i discovered that WILD technique when i grew tired of waiting imagery that never came to me.
Hope my personal experience helps you

Hasn't completely worked yet, but I've been close. The closest was about 3 hours ago. I went to bed early (really just a late nap) while everyone was still up and to avoid losing concentration I wore ear plugs. I got so far as wandering around my house in dream state but lost lucidity when I realized there was no sound, got freaked out a moment, then woke up. I'm going to steer clear of plugs from now on.

      ...

Hey that sounds great! I'm excited to do this! One small problem...

I can't get into SP! The first times I would try to WILD it came sooo easy..I'd lay there for a few minutes, boom vibrations, then boom SP. Or SP then vibrations. Anyways yeah...what do you do or what is your mind state like that you can get SP?

What works for me is I just imagine being a rock. I try to feel as solid and heavy as possible. I've also noticed that a little alcohol helps... but I havn't been able to tell yet if it effects my ability to become lucid, since it happens so very little , but expertise will come with time.

Your mind won't tell you that you can't get up out of bed, will it? Just get up and do an RC - you may be dreaming. My experiences have been similar to what Regalecus said. Many times I thought I was awake, but wasn't. I often have multiple FA's when WILDing, which can be frustrating, but eventually I get there. My WILD LD's almost always start in my pitch black bedroom. I have to feel my way to the front door and out of my house to find light and a new dream scene.

The SP with the black wall hasn't happened again, but when it did I finally just sat up and did many reality checks finally ending it with flipping the light switch and the light came on. I knew I wasn't dreaming after that and just stayed up. Has anyone ever had the light switch RC fail? I've heard that the lighting in a dream scene doesn't change with switches etc. Do lighting matches or lighters work?
