      Voice stimulation

      Hey everyone!
I wonder if a sound file, in which my voice is recorded reminding me and telling me that I become concious, and "wake" me during my dreaming? Can I hear it? Would is it possible if it turns on 1 or 2 hours after I go to bed? Has anyone tried that?
I wish I have dream mask/glasses but I dont have it..

Yeah, I think it could work. You would have to play around with the volume and the exact phrasing, but if you rigged it to a timer that would go off right about 5-6 hours after going to sleep, it should go off right in the middle of your REM period, and therefore, right in the middle of a dream. A bit more low-tech than the mask, but it seems plausible. It would take some training to recognize the voice (as it would the flashing lights of a mask), but it would make an excellent lucid aid.

I thought to make mp3 file in sound forge, but in first hour to record just a silence and after that to record my voice..
I dont know only how long to record afirmations before the mp3 ends and go on to repeating itself? What is the best interval for silence and afirmations? I thought on something like - 1h silence and then 15min voice and then again whole sequence from the beginning.
And I definetly dont know what is the best volume to hear it but not to full wake me up from asleep..

Yeah, you would want to have it play about 4.5 to 6 hours into your sleep period, rather than just one or two. The reason? It is toward the end of the night that your brain enters the longest REM period, and is therefore the period in which the longest, most vivid, and most memorable dreaming occurs. You want to shoot for this period.

I would record at least 4.5 hours of silence (perhaps just record a moment or two, and copy it with Audacity or whatever), then a voice saying something to the effect of, "You are dreaming. Perform a reality check and see for yourself," or whatever phrasing works best for you. Again, just copy and paste with Audacity, etc. In terms of audio, I would start out with a whisper. If it wakes you up, tone it down. If you try it multiple times and never recall such a voice, amp it up a bit. I would say to let the audio portion run for a good 10-15 minutes, or so. If you become lucid and these voices begin to irritate you, shorten the length.

It'll require a whole lot of tinkering with, for sure, but if you get something that works, send me a copy.

      Simple steps.

      1. Download wavepad or audicity or whatever of your choice.
      2. Record your voice.
      3. (This shouldn't be to complicated) Make the first couple of hours silence then add your voice.

Hahahaha this is so funny!! I actually did it! But not in the way I planned... Here is what happends:
I recorded my voice, after one hour of silence, repeating for 3min this affirmative "I am in a dream now and I'm aware that I'm dreaming", then silence 20min, and then again 3min of voice, and again 20min of silence, and that sequence repeating for about 4hours.. I played that mp3 and went to sleep. I had to wake up after only 4 hours, and when I woke up I realized that I didn't hear anything of recorded stuff, I didn't even remember a one single dream and I was tired and dissapointed because experiment didn't work! Then I did some duties at home and after 2hours I went back to sleep. I played file again but little louder. I couldn't asleep in first hour, and I was awake when first affirmative started. I didn't want to stop it and I just kept listen to 3min of voice and I continued willing to fall asleep..
THE NEXT MOMENT I REMEMBER IS THAT I AM IN A DREAM!! (but didnt realize yet) I felt weird, I felt like on some drug, i was high, and I went to bathroom to check my self in mirror! Then I realize that I'm maybe in a dream, and then I did my usual reality test with levitation and LD began!
The LD was pretty long (for me), maybe like half hour or hour in dream time, and then I woke up and heard second voice recording. It woke me up.. I suppose I played it too loud this time..
I realize that I entered in instant dream just a moment after fell asleep, and I was sleeping only 20min.. This is awesome experience for me! I would love to have that skill to enter in lucid dream so easily and every time when I want or fall in sleep..
I do not understand why mankind neglects this ingenious discovery and take dreams like something irrelevant... We should have been taught from birth to have this ability...
