I think we all agree that dreaming is like going to another world, but the dreamworld change all the time and depending on what's going on in our lives, our dreams will be different every night. |

hey
It sounds meshugge, but I think it would be neat. Kind of like living in two worlds, having two separate lives -- literally. It might be boring to some who prefer being able to go to all different places, but for me, I think it would be fun. You could build up a lot of stuff in the one other world. |

I've had dreams in the same location before several nights in a row (not for more than about 5 days). The scenery still changed slightly from night to night, like some tress would get bigger or move around, or there would be a building on the horizon that never used to be there. I don't think your subconscious memory is detailed enough to repaet the same setting exactly from night to night, but it can do pretty well. |

hey
thats neat that you brought that up! That would be really cool! Last night I had three seperate dreams with their own story and characters and everything but they all took place in the same building. The dreams were seperated by wakefullness too (WBTB). Too bad none were lucid though... |

seems like a pretty nice experience. It would be cool if we could escape to some dream land every night to escape the pressures of society. sorta of like another world. During the day we would actually look forward to sleeping. |

PUT ON A HAPPY FACE
I have returned to one particular world quite a few times, returning to exact places can be tricky but with practice it can be done too. To me the dreaming is another world, its infinite in size so getting back to a place you have been might be tricky considering how big the place is =) you have to get a feel for the place, its like knowing how to get someplace but you dont know the directions to it like street names or landmarks. Another trick is to call for help. A horse a dragon, a giant falcon or a cabby that dosent speak your language. Ask them to take you to the place you were, describe it to them and perhaps they might know the way... There are also stories of cities ones that dreamers can congregate in but thats a whole nother topic =D Rahaul that is how I experience the dream world, its a real place to me as only "Now" is real and yeah I do look foward to dreaming but I learned the hard way that you have to find balance with the two. Dont neglect one or the other. |

Oohhumm
I've had a lot of dreams with the same scenery, but the biggest recurring details are my DCs. |

I've always thought it be neat to manifest one's dreaming life into a rich and static world... Something that oscillates in coherent thought with the waking life and such... And crossing over the border where your waking body strives more to be in the dream world... And eventually, it is the dream world that becomes your reality of living. Man, that's be awesome. |
|
I think if it was possible for the human body to survive without need of excercise or external nourishment we would all choose to live in our dreams. I mean lets face it, it's far better than this place we inhabit. We could do anything our entire lives. |
|
So...which is real, the pink one or the black one?
i've had different dreams that take place at the same location. Or i've had dreams in my house, it doesn't look like my house in my dream, but i know it's my house. Dreaming and the whole two worlds type of thing, if that were the case, then what would you define as reality? something to think about. Maybe you'd prefer to sleep the rest of your life cuz you like that reality better. Then you'd start to think of death. |
|
I believe that the real world is necessary to be a comparison to our dream world. Without reality (I'm not going to go into any debates on the subject) we wouldn't be so excited about dreams. Hence, I like both worlds. |

Mmm, i experience recurring dream locations very frequently. In fact, in most of my dreams (non-lucid) I manage to visit this one place (a local train station) at some stage throughout. It's not always exactly the same, with some roads being longer some times, new shops appearing, etc. but it's definitely the same place. It's actually not that interesting, maybe because i've always tended towards resurring dreams. I'm naturally repetitive i guess. |
|
a few months ago, I had a reoccuring dream location for like 2 weeks in a row... I was at a ski resort with tons of snow. but this helped give me lucidity i guess, because it was in the summer, and it wasn't hard to sense that something was wrong in my dream |

wow, going to the same dream would be like loading a saved game, wouldn't it? |

The first step to having a reacurring dream scene is to prepare your mind to engage the proper technique when you become lucid. |
|
that's true. also you can spin. In my dreams, i just walk there. One lucid dream i remember i walked out my front door. and thought of where i wanted to go, then i went there. or you could fly there, that's always fun. |

now, what i would do if i ever became lucid again, i would use the door technique (probably because it's most reliable) and i would go to outer space! as far out as my imagination would let me. maybe, we could find an answer as to why we live through lucid dreaming... you know, the one question no one can answer. |

I've had many non-lucid dreams that have occured in a location I have been before. A long time ago, I had a dream of being in a French ferry port, or something similar. I didn't remember that dream until two years later, I was in the same place again. Everything looked almost the same as it did two years before. |
