False awakening but knew right from the start it was a dream.

Hello, I had a false awakening but knew right away i was dreaming. How did I know? I didnt do any RC's i just woke up and was like, "Yeah, I'm dreaming."
what's this called? Is it still called a false awakening?

Also, I tried to summon my Dream guide, but couldnt. I walked up to my closed door and wished for my dream guide to be on the side, but when i opened it, he/she wasn't there. I tried a few times but still no luck. How come i couldnt get my dream guide to be there?

I managed to change my appearance before the dream ended but not perfectly, the hair was all wrong, why was that?

Also, whenever the dream started to fade, i spun around and that seemed to work, but it would wear out very quickly. So every 15 seconds i would have to spin around again untill i woke up without warning. Why didn't it give me a chance to spin around again? lol, and why did my dream only last like 5 minutes?

      Thanks.

Yeah, it is still called a false awakening, even if it is lucid. As for the DG, I've never been good at summoning any DC, so I couldn't help you there. The hair thing, you might have been distracted, there might have been some thought or something floating around in your subconscious that messed you up, or it might have just been a freak incident. Things like that happen sometimes, have you done it before?

From experiences related to me by my father, I can say that your body probably just decided it had had enough sleep and woke up. Whether that's because it had actually had enough sleep or because you had excited your brain (so to speak) too much is anyone's guess. What I do to stay in a dream is keep calm (first and most important) and try to engage myself in the dream (talk to a DC, watch tv, climb a mountain). The trick is forgetting that you're dreaming (as in don't think about it) and not losing lucidity at the same time. Doing something like this may prove more effective for you than spinning.

Thanks, i did wake up and realise it was 2pm. I had goten 14 hours of sleep. So yeah i probably just had enough sleep and woke up lol but i guess that was because i had only 3 hours sleep the previous day.

That was my first lucid dream where i actually tried to do something. I wake up usually as soon as i know im lucid. So that was the first time i tried to change my appearance. Ill try again next time.

      Thanks again.

Oh, yeah, 14 hours of sleep can do that to you. I hate it when I have sleep rebound like that. Waste the whole day and ruin your sleep schedule. Glad I could help explain things a bit for you.
