Lucid Sex & moderating your LDing...

Just a couple questions if I may...

Im still new to this forum and have never had a full lucid dream...but will soon

First question is regarding Lucid Sex. Anyone ever do this? I don't see too much on this forum talking about this. A couple other websites I have visited say most the time these lucid sex encounters only last a short while. Mainly because it's easy to get worked up/pumped up during the situation and you end up waking yourself up. Has anyone found this to be true?

I've had a couple NON-lucid sexual dreams in my time and I must say their quite fun! When I was in my teens I remember a couple wet dreams that occured. That just proved to me how intense and REAL dreams can be. I haven't talked to my girlfriend about this new goal with LDing...don't really know how she would take it. HAHA It would probably almost feel like you cheated when you woke up...but not really...right?

Also, I can easily see how addictive LDing can be...especially if you get really good at it and can have them frequently. Does anywhere notice their waking lives seeming less entertaining after learning how to LD? Does anyone moderate how often they have their adventures in dream land?

I just can see how this awesome "get away" that can be experienced everynight could get out of hand and become more exciting than waking life...or does it inspire your waking life?

      Does anyone else agree...disagree...any thoughts?

      Warm regards!!

I don't have much experience but I'll try to answer your questions basically untill somebody more advanced gets here.

First question is regarding Lucid Sex. Anyone ever do this?
Yes, most people do this. In your dreams your emotions get stronger than in waking life and wanting to sex is already quite strong so a lot of people cannot resist the urge when they are new to lucid dreaming.

A couple other websites I have visited say most the time these lucid sex encounters only last a short while. Mainly because it's easy to get worked up/pumped up during the situation and you end up waking yourself up. Has anyone found this to be true?
You can get too excited and wake up yes, with enough practise you should be able to stay dreaming though, you can also lose lucidity and forget that you are in a dream, you could try thinking something thoughtful or reminding yourself that you are in the dream to try and stop this. Oh and I should mention, some unlucky people do wake themselves up and orgasm in real life as they do in the dream sometimes making a mess... I'm not sure how this could be stopped.

I haven't talked to my girlfriend about this new goal with LDing...don't really know how she would take it. HAHA It would probably almost feel like you cheated when you woke up...but not really...right?
Yes, I talked about this to my girlfriend and she thinks of it as kind of cheating. She is more relaxed on the topic than real cheating though at least. I myself think it is more like masturbation but whatever, it varies on opinions.

I just can see how this awesome "get away" that can be experienced everynight could get out of hand and become more exciting than waking life...or does it inspire your waking life?
This is hard for me to answer, on one hand you do kind of look forward to going to sleep that night to try and have a lucid dream because they are so cool but on the other hand I am more aware than I used to be in waking life, not as much on autopilot and it has made me more happy than I used to be in waking life. This could also vary on opinion but I think most enjoy the waking life moreso than they used to.

Thanks for your response Dying Dignity. Very well said and intelligent answers. I do see how it could inspire your waking life in many ways.

I admire you for talking it over with your girlfriend. My girlfriend and I get along great and am very open with eachother. But I don't think I personally will discuss it though. Lucid dreaming is a slight gray area that she dosent really grasp the concept of...entirely that is. And lucid sex?? I don't think so. So I kinda think...why start a potential issue/argument/fight if I don't have too

I normally don't pick up too many hobbies not because i don't want to but because I don't have much free time. Lucid dreaming however i'm excited about because no matter how busy I am during the day...I have to sleep eventually everynight and what a better time to practice!

      Thanks again!

To answer that last question, sometimes i do get bored with real life. If i find myself having to do something boring or something i hate doing, i often think to myself, "I sure wish this was a dream." Then i find myself doing a reality check, and most of the time finding that it is sadly not a dream. Also like Dying Dignity said, it has made real life less auto pilot for me too. I tend to be a little more aware of my surroundings, but on the other hand, if i find myself bored, i often get lost day dreaming about what i would do if i were in a lucid dream.

Nicely put, Dying Dignity. I feel the exact same way.

My non-lucid sexual encounters have usually been quite pleasurable. Maintaining lucidity in sexual dreams can be a challenge at first...you almost have to develop a casual attitude toward dream sex...sort of a "hit and run" mentality.

Yeah, I might keep this bit private from her. And technically, if you didn't do it in reality, it isn't really cheating. My two cents on the matter...

Also, I can easily see how addictive LDing can be...especially if you get really good at it and can have them frequently. Does anywhere notice their waking lives seeming less entertaining after learning how to LD? Does anyone moderate how often they have their adventures in dream land?

Some people view LDing as a form of escapism, which shouldn't be a person's goal. Rather, your dream life should coexist with your waking life. They should inspire one another. And while lucid dreams are great, your real life is capable of maintaining a continuous plot of sorts, so I don't really see one as being far greater than the other. Personally, I would never want to regulate my lucid ventures. Why waste 1/3 of your life having regular dreams when you could do anything you please?

Again, just my two cents...good luck, mate.

lucid sex is just like the real thing.
Law abiding citizen by day, breaking the laws of reality by night.

      Welcome!

Lucid sex is a must ha ha. It's fun but honestly its no better than real sex. Try it a couple times and you'll get bored and want to do other things like flying and walking through walls. I've never heard of anyone getting a wet dream from lucid sex and I'm doubtful that it could happen because of the fact that your lucid. In a normal dream you believe its reality and if you have a dream about sex that is non-lucid that would be when you'd get a wet dream. In a lucid you're aware you're dreaming and I believe this would decrease the possibility of wet dreams.

It's fun but I wouldn't say it's addictive. You'll probably find yourself thinking about it quite a bit at first. Before my first lucid all I could think about was having one. After the first they started coming easier and for awhile it was a little bit of an obsession but as you have more and more it will most likely seem just as normal as non-lucid dreams, so don't worry too much about it.

Yes I have had sex in lucid dreams, It was even better than in real life and I never woke myself up, yes it does shorten the time I spend in the dream or so ir seems, but I don't think it is a problem once you can become more or less lucid.

I find dreams as my hiding place where nobody can see me, I know that I can find comfort in them, use them to help me in real life, serch for advantures and much more, but that is it.
Sometimes I get carried away, but I try not to forget that living is the real thing.

I'll admit I've had LD sex, got a 20 minute lucid sometime last year and spent the last 5 minutes of it messing around. I've gotten better self control since than, and I can see myself having LD sex every once and a while once I get my LDs down regularly. But its not like the second I become lucid I think of having sex.
