      Has anyone done this?

I imagine loads of people have and i might sound stupid but has anyone woken up from there dream and after a few seconds or minutes. Wanted to go back into there dream and have done it. What i do is, if i just wake up from my dream in the morning, i imagine what i was just doing in the dream and carry on in my head and eventually go to sleep. And open my eyes and what do you know, a few hours have gone passed.

I've done in a few times. Usually on a weekend, where I just wake up without a set time, just drifting in and out of sleep periodically. I've also gone back into nightmares I'd just escaped from. (not anywhere near as fun. one of those 'oh no, not again,' feelings.)

Best way to prolong a LD that you might have just woke up from, too If you can DEILD, you've got it made

Edit: Just wanted to add that a lot of times for me, when I chain back into a dream, sometimes, something will be different. Like a DC I was expecting to be there might have disappeared (which is usually the case for me). Don't be perturbed by differences! Sometimes that breaks my lucidity. I'm working on just going with the change and using it to either stop a plot and explore or to guide the dream plot to a new direction.

I just did this twice recently... and the funny thing is, I had never been able to re-enter a dream before and didn't think it was even possible! My friend told me he can do it and I laughed at him (oops!)

But after reading either here or in one of the LD books I've been reading that it's possible, it suddenly happens to me twice. Each time I woke up and thought about the dream, and let myself fall back asleep. It wasn't exactly the same the second time in, but some elements were... example in one I was dreaming of taking pictures. I was seeing through the viewfinder and finding great images and compositions (exciting to an artist). After waking up I wondered... since I could dream of taking pictures, maybe I could dream about stopmotion animation (what I do - I animated my avatar image to the left there). Nope... but I did manage to get into a dream of taking pictures again. Not the same situation or place, but the theme was the same (taking pics).

In my other re-entered dream the first part was a kind of mild nightmare... I was driving on a highway and slowly the ground on both sides fell away steeply, so it was like the highway ran along the top of a wall. There was no way to turn around, and I felt like I was getting too far from home and needed to go back. Bit I could only drive on until the ground rose back up and the road entered a little town. At the first intersection I did an illegal move to turn around and headed back home, but I had the feeling the police were going to chase me and I woke up.

When I re-entered it, it wasn't quite the same. I found myself in a long bus or train car that was permanently parked... being used as a building. I just somehow knew it was in that same little town from my nightmare. But this time I decided I would stick around and explore a little rather than run away in fear. I walked out of the train car (or whatever it was) and walked along the main street, right next to the intersection where I had turned before. Only this time I could see what I had missed before... that it's a beautiful little town with nice brick buildings covered with vines. This was all that happened, but I woke up that time feeling fantastic (I felt bad the first time I woke up).

Darkmatters, this just further proves that dreams are all about believing yourself.

      Yeah... EXACTLY!!

I was completely amazed when it happened... and it gives me loads of confidence, which makes me feel like Ill be able to lucid soon.

And the really weird thing... I said in that last post that I wanted to dream about stop motion animation and it didn't happen... well, for a few nights AFTER that I dreamed of exactly that!!

Not quite the way I wanted to ... I was hoping to get some ideas for future films to make or characters or something, but then I guess I was pretty vague in my request (I actually said to myself "Maybe I can dream about stopmotion animation?"). Instead I dreamed of statues that came to life one night and the next about some people I know from the stopmotion message board I hang out at. Heh... I didn't realize I was actually dreaming about it until I wrote the dreams down and then I started to laugh. It's really crazy how much you can influence what you dream about!

Now I have an idea... sometime soon when I have a day off work and can sleep in as long as I want I:m gonna spend the evening watching some stopmo films and imagine myself in them or at least watching them as I fall asleep. I'll also get out some of my puppets and mess around with them... I'm even CONSIDERING putting a capful of ammonia in my room for a smell cue... it smells like liquid latex, which is what I make puppets form and the smell reminds me totally of animation.

Man, the quest for lucidity is an exciting adventure! With so many great discoveries along the way, even before you attain full lucidity!
