Why Are We Not Lucid Everytime?

With some skill, we can attain lucidity every once and awhile, but why not every time we sleep?

Why must we be unaware? Why do dreams seem to be so adept in deterring us from lucidity? Is it to educate us? Are we meant to be lucid at all or is lucidity just a biological aberration?

It is possible to have lucid dreams, much more then just "once in a while". I think part of what makes lucid dreams so fun and exciting is that they don't happen all the time. It is good for us to have non-lucid dreams also. I believe that we can learn stuff about ourselves, and it is a way for our subconcious to communicate with us.

I know that your logic part of your brain is shut over during sleep, so you don't think straight. Even when you're lucid you won't always think like you would when you're awake; it's only partially on. I believe that some other part of the brain is "working" instead...

Yea that's what I've noticed. I don't think the same way and have my full logic in lucid dreams. Maybe it's an issue of experience.

I think what TempletonEsquire meant to say (correct me if Im wrong, and if I am, can you answer my question..?) is that maybe we are not supposed to have lucid dreams. Maybe that those HH are really meant to scare the shit out of us and are a barrier to get lucid. Maybe they are a natural bodily function to prevent us being lucid. That we should not interfer with dreams. Just a thought.

I do not think we can really answer the question of why we are not lucid every night until we can finally answer the question: "Why do we dream?".

Everyone is just wired differently. I know a few people that are lucid almost every single night and I know some that have never been lucid. Luckily most of us fit somewhere in the middle.

I enjoy my non-lucid dreams, they are usually packed with loads of fun and adventure.

SO not fair! Mine are dumb, and when they could be nice, I SWITCH TO THIRD PERSON! Or, just random. ADVENTURE? No.
