Almost had a Lucid last night!

Hey guys, I almost had a lucid last night. I've also found a new technique I think that may help others. Well for starters. I was in my room in the dream. Then I tried playing my Keyboard aka Piano that was in my room that I have now. I was trying to play the keyboard then stuff didn't seem to work on it. I unplugged the keyboard and it was still working. I've noticed I was dreaming but nothing happened. The Keyboard was still working then electric screen started getting fuzzy numbers on it. It was like something was messed up. I was so close for becoming lucid while I realized the keyboard was still working even though it was unplugged. I woke up far from excitement. Could unplugging stuff in dreams would be a good technique for getting into lucid? I almost experienced a Lucid dream last night. But I woke up after the numbers and stuff were screwing up. It was flashing. It played a trick on me and it shut off. That's when I woke up. I don't know what went wrong.

That's really interesting. Sounds like you're getting there; you'll probably start off having these "near-lucid experiences", as I call them, and then suddenly you'll have a proper LD! I have a keyboard too, perhaps I should try playing it close to bedtime and see if I end up dreaming about it...

It sounds to me like you did have a lucid. If at any point you realized you were dreaming, then you became lucid. Nothing has to happen for it to be considered a lucid except for that. Just keep working on getting a little better/further each time.

My t.v. always stays on when I unplug it during my dreams as well. Hell it even stays on when I bust out the screen, lol. It could be a reality check for you I suppose. Congrats on your success (or near success), and good luck in your future efforts.

Thanks. I didn't knew what went wrong. My dreams are becoming more realistic lately. I guess its cause I'm nearly turning 19 this June. Maybe dreams become more realistic as you get older... I still remember what happened in the dream I had though, It was exciting. It was like I was awake but things were blurry. Are there any tips on how to stop the blurryness?

Everyone says rubbing your hands together can stop bluriness, but I'm yet to try it...

Yeah, you just need to stabilize. Any time you become lucid you should perform a few stabilization technique before exploring (even if your vision seems clear). Some stabilization techniques are: rubbing your hands together, feeling some textures/objects around you, look at your own feet until your vision clears then slowly moving your head to normal position, shouting "Increase clarity!", using your hand to "wipe" your vision clear, performing RCs for stabilization, testing all five senses, etc. There are a number of things you can do to stabilize your dream, just try out a few different ones and see what works best for you. Its also a good idea to perform a stabilization every so often during your dream. This will help prolong and enhance your lucid.

Cool I'll give it a try when ever I have another vivid dream. If I remember what to do though. Sometimes its hard to remember to do this kind of stuff. Sometimes I have no control over my body in the dream also. I just move too fast I cant even concentrate.
