      Persusasive Speech on LD'ing.

Alright, I need some help on an assignment I got in my College Writing Class. Basically, we just have to make some sort of persuasive speech about a topic of our choice. Seeing as I know a significant amount about Lucid Dreaming; I figure why not give it a shot. Soo, what do you think I should include in the speech.

Requirements are it has to be 1-2 minutes long, no more no less.

      Thanks in advance.

      Happy LD'ing :]

Persuasive to make a person want to LD?

Say how it's so surreal...and why

      you can do ANYTHING

uses sleep time, which is a given (we don't need to make time, we already sleep! Well, on the generic level)

There is LOTS you can say .
If you see a strange typo in my post, blame my iPad for that.

I would say while explaining it; be sure that you give the science behind it. If you get into a type of mystical sounding description on lucid dreaming, a lot of people tend to stop listening there. I would also include the fact that we spend almost a third of our life sleeping. Lucid dreaming is a way to get that time back. Just a few thoughts, good luck with your speech!

Lol sorry guys it doesn't have to be persuasive, it can be informative too.. And thanks for the advice. I will include about us humans sleeping 1/3 of our lives away, and lucid dreaming is a way to get that back.

Information can be lost if the subject listening tunes out due to indifferance.

Honestly, if you only get 2 minutes to explain the benefits of lucid dreaming, I would, along with stating that science backs it up, that it's a lost art that anyone can do, a confirmed phenominon so to speak.

But rather then emphazize that, you should provide them with sources of information that they can take home with them and study on their own, if the interest is really there.

2 minutes, that would just about give me enough time to make a small sentance on the generality of dreams and being conscious while dreaming and how revolutionary it is to the soul. But what you don't want to do is mention things like OBE's and how it all ties together, or how aliens are implanting strange visions in your head etc...

I think you get the idea. You want to use that 2 minutes to really appeal (generally) to people, then give them the tools to dig deeper if they want.

I appreciate the response :]. Yeah I was gonna start if off "There is a strange phenomenon you may not be aware of, every one of you have probably experienced this phenomenon in your life at least once. I'm talking of course about Lucid Dreaming."

You could even do one better than that and give an actual scenario of a Lucid Dream. It would have to be short, of course, but giving a brief taste like that could make your grade look that much better. (And get your classmate interested in Lucid Dreaming.)
