Thread: Cards, Flyers, & Communication

I quick effort on Photoshop before going to school and I came up with this. I have been dropping them around the trade school where I study. The image is not as big as it is here because I scaled it down to around a flyer size.

Hey, is this business cards thing still going?

If so, would it be possible for little me down here in New Zealand to get my hands on some of these aforementioned business cards?

I could hand them out in psychology lectures, like, stick 'em on the tables before the lecture. We get that sort of stuff, leaflets and whatnot, all the time in lectures on the benches. Most oif it is just student propaganda rubbish, but every now and then there's something interesting. So... yeah.... the way I figure it, psychology students are a pretty good target audience...

Hmm, what if someone just made a sheet with 14 (or however many standard business cards fit on a plain sheet of paper), put it in PDF format, or something like that, so we could all just print our own, and cut them out? Maybe just the plain white ones that say "Are you Dreaming?"

I sometimes use those "REALITY CHECK" stickers... i think its a non drug company... i can't remember.

I like your flyer Howetzer. If I might make one suggestion...

I think you'll get a better response if you add some fine print something to the effect of being a non-commercial, free gathering for educational purposes, no experience necessary, etc, etc.

By what I saw above, I wonder if people might be suspicious of your true motivations.

Not trying to be Cap'n Negativity or anything. Just a suggestion. Take it for what it's worth.

Wow. Sorry to reply so late.
But you are right. In an attempt to keep it simple I also made it seem sort of suspicious.

I was counting on many people instantly disregarding it as clairvoyance and such.
any advice to how I could word that better.
BTW. I did not get ONE single response. So I can only go up from here.

My newest method to distribute DV cards.

I have noticed many vehicles that have Dream catchers hanging from their mirror.
That is my Q to slipping A DV card under their wiper.

I am not sure if seeker has anymore.
With all that he has going on I might consider making some cards.

I read about this idea and instead of business cards, designed an 8.5 x 11 sheet of 10 bookmarks. I switched the sheet into a pdf file and was going to send it to someone here to see if I had approval to distribute the bookmarks in local libraries. I wanted to make sure that the design was something that the admin considered worthy of DV.

Anyway, never got around to submitting cuz my computer died on me... like 2 days after I finally perfected the design. I'd like to redesign the bookmaker sheet but I'll ask here first, this time, if it's something that DV might find usable.

If not, please tell me so that I can stop debating with myself whether I should or shouldn't go ahead and design a new sheet.

I personally think that is a really cool idea.
Because we are not sure what path the fund raising situation is going, it make work in well with that too.


Can't you make you own stamps now too?

I'll whip up another sheet of bookmarks. And about the stamps, here in Canada there are 'make your own stamps' order forms that can be picked up from the post office. I can't remember how much it cost but I think it was kind of pricey.
