Dreaming right after you fall asleep

Why is it sometimes that when I go to sleep I will start dreaming like 1 minute after I fall asleep? I thought that REM sleep dosn't happen untill 90-100 minutes into sleep?

Dreaming occurs not only on REM. Those dreams are much harder to remember though, unless you wake up in the middle of them. Either that, or maybe you only THINK a minute passed, while in reality it might've been longer. When exactly do you wake up from these dreams, right after having them or hours later?

Yeah I've been wondering this for a long time because my first and second LD was during a nap that was no longer than 20 minutes...

Yeah, you can dream anytime I think, ya know even daydream while awake. In general though people have their most vivid dreams during naps or late in the night after being asleep for a few hours. I don't understand why naps are so good for dreams but it's like that for me too.
