Failed reality check anyone?. A well, still a lucid.

      Hey everyone!.

Gosh, am I happy but also annoyed! lol.

Well, I've had in total 4 lucid dreams now. My first 1, it was kind of long, the other 2 were really short and the 4th one was inbetween.

I had my 4th lucid dream today, after almost a month and a half of waiting. I think I was lucid the whole time except sometimes I thought to myself 'I'm awake but then I argue, no I'm not.' cause things seemed out of place. So, I was doughting I was asleep, part of me kept thinking I was asleep while the other half of me kept thinking I was dreaming.

Now, the reason I'm annoyed is because I had doughts I was dreaming cause when I did a reaility check, my hand didn't go through my other hand, this is what I've done for my reality checks. I am annoyed I didn't do some other checks but I didn't think of it. This annoys me but I am happy I went lucid for abit because it proves to me it's still possible and drives me more to want to lucid dream!.

Has this ever happened to anyone, you do a reality check and it doesn't work?. I thought for sure my hand would go through my other hand.

For me, it's easy for me to confuse dreams with reality (I guess you could say my dreams take a more realistic approach to events). So, I've kind of debunked reality checks for myself. Different things work for different people, I guess.

Oddly enough, I do 3-4 RC's in waking life, yet when dreaming, I do one and it almost always fails.

My RC's are pretty involved too. My approach in waking life is to prove to myself why I'm not dreaming. So I question things. Read signs, engage my other senses. Ask myself where I came from 5 mins ago and what I'm doing now.

And yet in my dream, I push my finger on my palm, it fails, and then I go mental trying to understand why it failed...

The finger-through-the-palm is my favorite, too, but I find if I use the same reality check all the time (in a period when I'm having frequent LDs and/or near misses), my dreams seem to adapt. I find it fascinating that there seems to be some current of consciousness opposed to lucidity, playing all kinds of tricks to keep me from realizing I'm dreaming, or distract me and draw me back into the dream if I do go lucid.
If you have a sense of caring for others, you will manifest a kind of inner strength in spite of your own difficulties and problems. With this strength, your own problems will seem less significant and bothersome to you. By going beyond your own problems and taking care of others, you gain inner strength, self-confidence, courage, and a greater sense of calm.Dalai Lama

RC's fail too often for me. I've been lucid a lot more since I started using them as a way of stabilizing only.
