For me, it's easy for me to confuse dreams with reality (I guess you could say my dreams take a more realistic approach to events). So, I've kind of debunked reality checks for myself. Different things work for different people, I guess. |

"There is only one thing that differentiates life from stillness... It's that we die. That's all there is."
Oddly enough, I do 3-4 RC's in waking life, yet when dreaming, I do one and it almost always fails. |

The finger-through-the-palm is my favorite, too, but I find if I use the same reality check all the time (in a period when I'm having frequent LDs and/or near misses), my dreams seem to adapt. I find it fascinating that there seems to be some current of consciousness opposed to lucidity, playing all kinds of tricks to keep me from realizing I'm dreaming, or distract me and draw me back into the dream if I do go lucid. |

If you have a sense of caring for others, you will manifest a kind of inner strength in spite of your own difficulties and problems. With this strength, your own problems will seem less significant and bothersome to you. By going beyond your own problems and taking care of others, you gain inner strength, self-confidence, courage, and a greater sense of calm.Dalai Lama
RC's fail too often for me. I've been lucid a lot more since I started using them as a way of stabilizing only. |
