Are you sure about that? SP should happen any time you sleep, even during daytime naps. I've never heard anyone talk about it though.
you must be the change you wish to see in the world...

I don't think it has anything to do with day or night but rather the time spent sleeping.
Since when we sleep our body naturally activates SP, so not to act out your physical dream scenario. So in a sense while dreaming you are in sleep paraplysis the entire time. From time to time a person wakes up and this signal is slow getting the message across to your brain thus calling it sleep paralysis.
But my assumption, if this is true is maybe the time spent sleeping may be the result of your mind not generating the effect of motor funtion opon awakening.
because most napps are not long in duration while a whole nights sleep may cause this effect. Actually I am talking out my *$#@! but it just seemed reasonable.
I can't napp anyway so I have no personal experience with LD's SPs or anything else when it comes to knapping

      sp at day

Most of my SPs have been during the day, this was before I knew what lucid dreaming was. what I'm trying to do is go into SP while I keep my mind awake.
Self knowledge is the key and with out it we can unluck no other knowledge worth having

Yeah I'm usually only aware of my SP during day time naps or early morning hours. And trying to go into SP or get lucid while your mind is still awake is a great LD induction technique called WILD - in case you didn't know.
