For DILDs, I keep a regular and consistent dream journal, picked out certain dream signs I noticed were very prevalent, and do this reality check at various times during the day: I keep a piece of paper with writing on it in my pocket, and whenever I think to question my state of consciousness or notice a dreamsign in reality, I pull it out and read it, then look away and reread it to see if the text changed. Lastly, I look around and identify WHY I can tell I'm not dreaming.
I've attempted the use of the subliminal messaging program BrainBullet, but I have yet to confirm if this has helped or if it makes no difference.
