Well, last night, I had a couple non-lucid dreams.
It reminded me of how vague my dreams are. I wrote down as much as I could about the dream, but everything seemed uncertain, and I felt that if I went into too much detail I'd be making things up.
Basically, I dreamed I was jumping off a big cathedral-slash-tower, and then climbing back up. I was also talking to girls who were doing the same thing.
The other was about meteorites hitting near our house (which wasn't really our house) and landing in some lake/ocean that I don't really know much about, or know why it's there, or even question that at the time.
I don't recall either dreams being in first person, and that's what I mean by vagueness.
I was uncertain that mountains were near the cathedral, but I had a vague idea that they were, and for some reason I was seeing the house with the meteorites from high up, or even an RTS game perspective. But I can't really be sure about that.
While I remember being afraid that the meteorites would cause a huge wave to sink our house (which they did), nothing really made sense.
I remember dreams which WERE vivid (non-lucid), generally ones which envolved fear.
I just can't imagine being lucid in such vague dreams. If I can't even judge what my surroundings are, or see in first person, how can I walk around being aware that I am dreaming?
Is my problem with dream recall, or that I am sleeping lightly, etc?
Also, I never actually do a RC. I'm always so "caught up" in the dream that I believe it's real without thinking about it. I don't think "Hmm, I'd better RC".
Gaining the self-awareness, or conciousness required to even think about RCing, is something nearly impossible to me.
Even when I was younger and had a dream about being in water, and realised I could breath underwater, etc, I never gained the lucidity required to do anything like fly or control things.
Will this change as I do RCs throughout the day, as I have been doing since yesterday evening?
How "real" are your (lucid) dreams? Do you have a similar problem as me? Did you once have this problem, but have gotten over it?
Discuss.
P.S, Should this be in the non-lucid dreams section? I think this thread is a cross between both non-lucid and lucid. Sorry, I didn't notice the other section at the time.
