      Nightmares???

OK, so whenever I see or hear someone talking about overcoming nightmares, they all say 'They can't hurt you, don't worry'. But whenever I have a nightmare I know they can't hurt me, I don't even think about pain or anything else apart from pure fear.

So one of my typical nightmares started out fine. I was play 40 40 it inside a big furniture shop and then I was suddenly tranported into my bed. Then I saw a bannana floating in front of me, I grabbed it, then I was suddenly floating between my bunkbed and the wall, spinning aroung slowly. In front of me was a picture? Of an onion thing that was also a face and I could'nt blink or look away. This is all true btw, I know it sounds weird and random but it was THE FUCKING SCARIEST SHIT i've ever experienced in my life . I've had loads more of these nightmares even more random and scarier but I cba to write then as well.

So anyone know how to overcome these nightmares? Or anyone have any similar experiences?

      Similar Experiences

I haven't been able to overcome nightmares, but I do have similar experiences that are actually the cause of my joining this forum. I usually dream about the same things, which is how it is so easy for me to have a lucid dream. I used to dream about tornadoes. I know this sounds crazy, but I've always been fascinated by these storms and have even been in a few. I would be so afraid that I couldn't run from them, just stand there in shock. As time went on, I actually tried to (with much success), conjure these storms while I was dreaming. It took some practice, but eventually I got really good at it. I found that when I conjured the tornado, I was less afraid of it and more able to control it. I decided how close it got, the damage that was done, etc. I don't have 100% control over the dream, but the point is that I was significantly less scared.

Lately, I've been having alot of zombie nightmares. I know that sounds really cheesy. I'm not scared of zombie movies. Again, like the tornadoes, I actually like zombie movies. However, the second I realize I'm having a lucid dream where there are several people involved, they start turning into these flesh-eating zombies and I usually have to kill a loved one or become out numbered and have to choose whether to fight or to become one of them.

I think I'm going to try to conjure these zombies in my dreams, like I did with the tornadoes in order to lose the fear and gain more control over them. The problem that I'm having is controlling the dream or LD if the nightmare begins on its' own. Let me know if you figure anything out. Hope this helps somehow:0).
