I agree to some extent in than I am worried about our ability to get enough actual material to fill a semester, given how little actual research there is on lucid dreaming. However, we will have access to EEG equipment and the prospect of designing and possibly carrying out some original research on lucid dreamers is pretty exciting to me.

Also, I think the idea of a GISP (which is what they call these student-created courses) is definitely legitimate. They're not going to count towards your major, but as long as you have a faculty mentor and a rigorous review process I think letting students with a shared passion educate themselves is awesome. In fact a long time ago a GISP including many students and faculty members actually rewrote the whole university's approach to its curriculum. We've had the 'new curriculum' ever since.
