      Counting sheep as a VILD?

      Seems like it would work, would at the very least be an interesting twist on the whole idea.
      The burden of proof lies with the one making the claim

      lol yeah thats right. I find I never get to sleep when I'm counting sheep, or anything else, for that matter. I just relax and meditate a bit. For me, clearing my mind of all thoughts is the best way to fall asleep.

      But I thought people counted breaths for WILD? I was thinking it would your mind awake, which would be a plus.

      Counting things before going to sleep keeps you aware of being awake, and is therefore used in WILD for counting breaths.
      There are specific ways to do a VILD. I am not overally aware of what exactly you do in a VILD so I won't go on ranting about anything...

      I experimented with counting sheep with the words "Your dreaming!" written on their sides. Whatever you do, don't count past five or ten. Just keep starting over from one.
