Thread: Problem riding horses in LD

I have had this problem forever. I can't ride horses in my dreams. Well, I can ride them but my feet always drag the ground or something else isn't right. Usually I have to move my feet to move the horse like Fred Flinstone. It is strange because I have horses in real life and am quite a good rider. I have been trying to get it right off and on for years when I come across a horse in my dreams. I have had this problem dreaming since childhood when I desperately wanted a horse but didn't have one. Anyone have any ideas?

That's weird! lol xD If you're used to riding them in real life it's strange that it would screw up in dreams. How about if you made sure your feet were in the stirrups- which are pretty high off the ground?

I really feel sorry for what you had in you dream. I think there are many dreams that I had seen and in real life it is completely impossible. I tried to correct it in my dreams but still I didn't make any change. I don't think this is gone change.

Not sure if this is helpful, but go ride a horse for 3-5+ hours and then go to sleep right away. Hopefully that should at least get you a horse dream.

As for your issue with riding them in dreams, if you've had problems with that since you were little (I'm assuming you're fairly proficient with lucid dreaming) it may just be a mental block at this point. Try getting creative about it. Rather than getting on a horse and riding off, start by floating/flying forward near the ground and then imagine that you're riding a horse. Or use the feeling of riding a horse for a VILD.
