      Is There Anyone Else...

...who is, as I would put it, impaired in every technique I can think of but DILD?

I've tried just about every technique that doesn't involve electronics, and the only ones I've been successful with are DILD and DEILD. I can't for the life of me figure out why I cannot do the other ones. For WILD, I absolutely cannot induce SP for some reason. I consider myself pretty good at relaxing. I've tried WILD numerous times to no ado. The farthest I've gotten is to having a "spur" of sudden, strong vibrations, along with vivid images. It happens every time. These vibrations last only like a second or two, and then they go away. I feel rejuvenated and energetic after. I've tried lying there, and I've ended up lying for at least an hour with no results or sign of getting any closer to SP. And yes, I've done them at WBTB or napping, not when I go to bed. The fact that I cannot induce SP rules out any WILD technique, so I wouldn't even bother trying to use alarms and whatnot (unless you consider DEILD, but you're pretty much past SP by that point).

FILD, what seems to be the easiest technique around, doesn't work either. Man, if it worked for me, I would be lucid like every damn night! >.< But of course nothing easy can work for me -.-

I can't MILD or use reality checks either. I've never had a dream induced by MILD, and though I've tried reality checks in the past, I have never done a RC without being lucid. The only thing close is dreaming about lucid dreaming. Otherwise, my lucids are completely random, sometimes I will even get them when I'm not keeping my DJ well or sleeping well.

The only thing that seemed to have worked is that I tried chakra meditation once. After that I got a HUGE shitload of DILDs. In fact, so many that I outnumbered my DEILDs, and I used to be able to pull off like 4-6 per morning. I don't know what I did, hell I don't even know if I did it right, but it worked I guess O.o

Anyways, the point of the thread is that I'm trying to figure out why I can't seem to use any other technique. Anyone else have the same problems? Any ideas as to why nothing but DILD really works for me?
      Lolwut.

No, that isn't strange. Methods for LD'ing really depends entirely on the individual.

Like for me, I have it the exact opposite from you. I am unable to DILD. I'm pretty certain my Dream Self is just an ignorant, flighty twit, but still. I've only DILD'd once. The other 20+ LD's I've had were primarily WILD mixed with WBTB. So yeah, I think it just really depends on the person, though I'm not sure what aspects of them (mental, physical, emotional?).

Also, what is the chakra meditation that you tried? I've been looking into some forms of it (after seeing it on Avatar TLA ) but what method did you use that worked?

I know what you mean, but I really want to know exactly what part of me stops me from just about every other technique of LDing xD

As for the chakra meditation, I pretty much just sat and focused on my chakras and imagined them opening. Like I said, I don't even know if I did it properly or anything xD If you ever get the chance, I would suggest trying it in dreams too. It'll open your chakras in like seconds.
